Given 327 black-and-white photographs and 84 color plates, this rare book is an in-depth pictorial survey " of European cut glass produced from the period between 1904 to 1925.  This comprehensive text accompanied and exhibition 'Glass 1905-1925' which was held at the Austrian Museum of Applied Art in Vienna in the year 1985.  'The variety of glass produced in the period 1905 to 1925 in the area of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the countries which succeeded it seems virtually inexhaustible.'  A typical museum text, the photography is superb, the captions are in-depth, and the narrative is concisely rich.    


Written in both English and German, this rare out-of-print book is a pictorial survey of European cut glass. Please email us for international USPS shipping options and costs.  Up for auction is a finely executed Bohemian pitcher, in the traditional German Neo-Renaissance style, dating from the latter quarter of the 19th Century.  This extraordinary example, with its beautifully enameled coat-of-arms, would make a fine addition to any collection of historic Central European glassware. The ribbed handle is applied. The pitcher is 7 1/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition with only minor gold wear around the rim.   Up for auction is a two-piece Bohemian cranberry fairy lamp dating from the latter quarter of the 19th century.  This excellent example, consisting of three layers of cased glass, would make a fine addition to any fairy lamp collection.  The lamp is 4 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  One minute abrasion near the top that could easily be polished out if desired.  This beautiful 4layer mica flecked blue over white encased in inner and outer clear layers stands 6 3/8 inch high with a 2 3/8 inch diameter polished opening.  Bohemian beauty.  C. 1880.
