Book: Loetz Austria 1900 by Waltraud Neuwirth. 1986. 320pp. 8vo 9.5x6.75. DJ over cloth and hard board cover. Necessary reference for any Loetz glass collector.  8002 This pair of Loetz marbled vases were done in the C1880’s and this pair is marvelous in size and execution of the technique. I have been to the Bohemian glass museum where they have over 30,000 pieces of glass on display and I can assure you that they did not have an example of this technique on display that matched the size and beauty of this pair. The marbling layer of red and white is sandwiched between the inner opaque layer and outer clear glass layer and required great skill to achieve the effect and consistency in layers to have the glass be stable. Loetz and great marbling to these 20 inches high urn vases. 8 inches diameter. Perfect and original condition. Additional pictures item # 263, not duplicates of this pair.

7048 LOETZ DECORATED IRIDESCENT VASE - 47I love a beautiful piece of glass and attribute this unsigned piece to Loetz. The style is called "rubin matt Iris" from c.1900. One can recognize the quality and age of most any piece. This decorated deep blue iridescent piece has gold outlined floral areas of no iridescence surrounded by this beautiful iridescent background. Base glass is red (this is determined by holding the vase to the light and looking inside the vase). Numbered base without pontil. Great oriental influenced shape. 6 5/8" high. 6 3/4" wide. 3 1/16"base. Loetz Bohemian glass at its best. Two feet. Center pontil ground. Nice iridescence on this item. Unscratched interior. No chips either.  Stunning Eastern style on this classically shaped vase semi opaque vase. Manley referenced by the Lagerbergs believes these were done by Hawkes of Dudley, England. Blanks from Storbridge or France. 8 3/4" high. 6 1/2" diameter. No this is not Stevens and Williams glass, but we do not have an English catagory.  1159.This is one of my favorite pieces. It has characteristics of Steuben, Loetz, and others. The color is a beautiful seaform pale green with mica inclusions. The handles are lovely twisted tendril shape applied in a stylistic fashion. Ground and polished pontil.
