This book is an early in-depth treatise on the colored glass produced by Steuben Glass Works between 1903-1933, and is Volume I of a two-part series. You are bidding on Volume I only.

A GUIDE TO COLORED STEUBEN GLASS 1903-1933 by Eric E. Ericson, The Lithographic Press, 1963 First Edition, Second printing.

Profusely illustrated in black-and-white, this rare book pictures examples of Steuben glass including portions of the December 1932 Steuben catalogue. Having met with Frederick Carder, the author had compiled notes which were the basis of this scholarly survey. The information provided in this book is in many cases "first hand" information from the glass master himself. Pictured and discussed are the Aurenes, Jades, Acid Cut-backs, Cerise Ruby, Pomona Green, Steuben Reeding, Cluthra and Cintra, Shaded Crystal, , Ivory and Ivrene, Alabaster and the Translucent Glasses, Calcite, Intarsia, Rosaline, Bristol Yellow, Bubbly Glass, the Opalescents, Silver Overlays, and more. This book is a collector’s item in itself and would make a wonderful addition to the permanent reference library of the serious collector, dealer or historian of American art glass.

This Steuben gold aurene shines so lovely extending forth from the interior of this trumpet form vase. Beautiful pink highlights radiate. It is the largest of the two I currently have and is 8 inches high and 6.25 inches in upper diameter with a 3 3/8 inch diameter base. Both are unsigned as is most of the calcite items. Truly beautiful and only $975.   The gold aurene is so beautiful when bursting forth from the calcite. I know it is always lovely, but it seems the calcite just gives it that elegance that is classical. This is the smaller of the two that I currently have. It is 6.25 inches high and 5 3/8 inches in diameter at the expanded and curving opening. It rests on an applied alabaster base 3 1/8 inch in diameter.  8538)	Sinclair, Steuben, or Dorflinger attribution on this Celeste blue handled and footed cut crystal pitcher.
