14k yellow gold Art Deco ladies purse box c1920. This engraved solid gold box has a blue sapphire clasp and weighs 67 grams, or 2.54 ozs. Because of its size this box would be perfect for holding money, notes, jewelry, cards, or smoking materials. Measures 3 inches wide by 1 and three quarter inches deep, and three quarters of an inches thick. Boucheron is a famous French jeweller founded by Frederic Boucheron in 1858. This Boucheron compact weighs 168 grams of 18k yellow gold and is marked with the French hallmark. Vintage gold compacts. This 18k Sapphire and gold compact has the most beautiful moire finish.This gold compact is from the 1950 to 1960 period and is in pristine condition. There are four blue sapphires that are worked into the compacts release catch. The back hinge is made so well and with such precision that it is difficult to see The beveled glass mirror is also original. The moire finish was exquisitely done to look like watered silk or peacock feathers. Weighs 142 grams.
