Antique Dutch Brass Lantern circa 1800

This is a lovely Meerschaum pipe with amber mouthpiece. There are two hand-carved Irish or English setters facing in opposite directions. It is all original in its original leather and velvet case. It is 4-1/2 inches long x 2 inches high. The case is in used condition. Meerschaum pipes are very popular because of the nature of the material from which they are made. Meerschaum is a rare mineral similar to a light, hard clay. The light and porous qualities of the material keep the smoke cool and smooth. Because the pipe absorbs the nicotine, it slowly changes color to tans and browns. The pipe becomes more valuable the longer it is smoked because of this color change.  Transitional Victorian Slag Glass Lamp" has Victorian and Arts and Crafts elements of design in it and measures 19 and one half inches high. The base of this slag glass lamp measures 7 and one eighth inches square. Antique Large Copper Stock Pot

This cup and saucer set was made by the New Hall company of Staffordshire potters that operated in Shelton, England. They began producing hard paste porcelain wares, predominantly for tea, in the last quarter of the 18th century, continuing on into the 19th century. Typical designs were in the Chinese famille rose floral style. Most pieces are not marked. This cup is made without a handle, again characteristic of the style and period of the late 18th - early 19th century. The cup measures 3” across and just under 2 ins. in height. The saucer measures 5 1/2 ins. across. The set is flawless and will delight the serious collector of early English porcelain. (For similar examples see Sotheby’s Concise Encyclopedia of Porcelain, ed. David Battie, London, 1990.)  This "Antique Japanese Bronze Vase" measures 7 inches at its widest point. The mouth of this japanese bronze vase measures 5 and three quarter inches across, is 4 and one half inches wide at the bast and is 12 inches high. Napolean III rouge marble and gilt bronze mounted three piece clock set. The clock has a shaped rouge marble case surmounted by a classical urn with cast ram's heads, over a circular bezel and dial set with Roman numerial chapter ring, all raised on a reed-cast base. The seven light candelabra are similar.  Wooden Jesus figurine souvenir 4.25 inches high; 2.5 wide by 1 9/16 deep inch base.  This great wood mortar and pestle is 8-1/4 inches tall and 5-1/2 inches in diameter. The pestle is 10 inches long. It is in good condition and has been well used as evidenced by the wear on the top edge of the mortar and bottom portion of the pestle. It has age cracks on the bowl portion and the base, but they do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is a deeper chip on the base and another area that is a shallow chip. Both areas are shown in the photos. This is a great old piece.  Beautiful bronze clock with two lion griffins and nice detail. This clock was recovered from an old American railroad station.

This truly outrageous leather Rhinocros is a one of a kind. It was commisioned by Abercrombie & Fitch NYC to be used as a display to sell the smaller versions. It was later sold to our consignor in the early 1960's. Made in England. Measures snout to tail 74", 24" high. It has the original hinges and snap. The lid is opened by pushing in the side snap which releases the lid. The inside of the card case is lined with red velvet. The bottom of the lid and the top of the bottom section are cased in ivory. The front and back are a raised-panel design of squares (or rectangles) of mother-of-pearl, with the outside ring of squares slanted to raise the center panel. Everything is intact, including a vintage brad which holds the snap in place. The work is exceptional. The exterior of the case would have to be rated as mint for its age. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, etc. The lining fabric is worn. The case is 3-7/8 x 2-5/8 x 3/8 inch thick at the side. We believe this piece is all original and dates back to the turn of the century, or older. This is a one of a kind item and an excellent addition to your mother-of-pearl collection or calling card case collection.  Fine and rare set of English silver pistol knives by William Abdey London c1760.
