5 Handmade linen and lace doilies circa 1800s. These cream linen and lace doilies or squares measure 6.5 inches square. The lace is a very fine linen bobbin lace hand stitched to a linen square, the lacework is really top notch with a smooth supple hand. 2 squares have a hand some broken bridges, the doilies are otherwise in good condition, I have washed and pressed them. The estate this set came from had the best quality items and were even stored in the best (a Goyard trunk no less), the family name is Iselin of the America’s Cup fame.  Handmade cream Maltese lace doily c1800s. This cream Maltese lace doily measures 6.5 inches in diameter, the design shows the traditional Maltese cross in the center, indicative of this type of lace. There is a small repair, the doily is otherwise in good condition, I have washed and pressed it. The estate this set came from had the best quality items and were even stored in the best (a Goyard trunk no less), the family name is Iselin of the America’s Cup fame.  5 Handmade Italian linen lace doilies squares c1900. These cream handmade Italian whitework linen and lace squares measures 7 inches square. The linen is hand loomed with handmade filet lace, cutwork, lace filling stitches and raised hand embroidery called Punto Reale, beautiful hand work with a lovely design! These doilies are in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them. Handmade linen lace wine set 13pc c1920s. This cream and white linen and lace wine set consists of 10 goblet rounds 5.5 inches in diameter and a center doily 18 inches in diameter. The set is made using fine linen and handmade bobbin lace hand stitched to the linen. The center doily is a close match but not exact for the set, they do work together though as they exactly match in color and type of lace. The set is in very good to excellent condition, I have washed and pressed it. This set of 10 entirely cream handmade bobbin lace coasters measure 6 inches in diameter, design elements are organic with flowers and leaves in a graceful arch around the rounds. This set of 12 cream lace goblet rounds or coasters measure 6 inches square, they are handmade using princess lace and linen all hand stitched. These goblet rounds are in excellent condition, I have washed and pressed them. The estate this set came from had the best quality items and were even stored in the best (a Goyard trunk no less), the family name is Iselin of the America’s Cup fame.  Limerick lace veil or shawl de-accession The Met. This ecru lace veil or shawl is a de-accession from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it measures 50 by 54 inches. This piece was made by using machine made mesh and adding the designs by hand with a needle and thread, the border was hand stitched on to the edges. There is a teensy hole (less than 1/4 inch)in the net and a few brown spots which would probably soak out, the lace shawl is otherwise in excellent condition, the lace is supple having been kept in the climate controlled environment of the museum. This could be folded in half crosswise and worn as a shawl or used as a veil. It would soak out as a lighter color.

Lace veil or shawl from The Metropolitan $349.00
Brussels lace shawl de-accession from The Met. This large, handmade, ecru Brussels lace shawl is a de-accession from The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The shawl measures 118 inches in length and each side is 88 inches. This was made sometime in the mid 1800s using machine made mesh back ground and hand stitching the handmade Brussels lace motifs onto the net. The floral designs use finely handmade lace with a variety of ornamental filling stitches. Note that the designs cover the entire shawl and not just the corners or edges as seen in lesser pieces. The shawl is beautifully made with fine hand work using quality laces. There is a very small 1/3 inch expert repair and a few stains, the shawl is otherwise in excellent condition, the lace is supple having been kept in the climate controlled environment of the museum. This would soak out to a lighter color.  Brussels lace shawl de-accession from The Met. This large, handmade, ecru Brussels lace shawl is a de-accession from The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The shawl measures 118 inches in length and each side is 79 inches. This was made sometime in the mid 1800s using machine made mesh back ground and hand stitching the handmade Brussels lace motifs onto the net. The floral designs use finely handmade lace with a variety of ornamental filling stitches, I see honeycomb, partridge eye and amure in the mixture. Note that the designs cover the entire shawl and not just the corners or edges as seen in lesser pieces. The shawl is beautifully made with fine hand work using high quality laces with virtually invisible stitches. This shawl is in is excellent condition, there is one tiny expert repair on the netting of about 1/4 inch, the lace is supple having been kept in the climate controlled environment of the museum. This could be worn today.  Wide lace yardage circa 1900. This cream machine made lace measures 14 by 112 inches or a bit over 3 yards. This lace is quite fine with lovely flowers and spaces at the top and bottom that one could thread pretty ribbons into. This lace is in excellent condition.  Handmade Princess lace hat veil circa 1870s. This ecru lace veil measures 19 by 60 inches. This lace is made using machine made netting and hand stitching the designs onto the netting. There are a couple of holes at the bottom that are pictured next to my hand, the veil is otherwise in very good condition. This could be used for other purposes.

Handmade Princess lace hat veil circa 1870s. This ecru lace veil measures 17 by 47 inches. This lace is made using machine made netting and hand stitching the designs onto the netting. This veil is in excellent condition. This could be used for other purposes, like a blusher for a wedding veil.  Wide cotton lace panel circa 1890. This ecru lace panel measures 24 by 74 inches, the top part (which doesn't have any designs on it) does have some small holes so if you removed about 5 or 6 inches off the top you would get rid of the holes. The rest of the lace looks ok for use.  Cotton lace panel circa 1890. This cream cotton lace panel measures 20 by 49 inches, since it has pockets at either end I'm guessing it was made to hang as a curtain, however this can be used any way you like. The lace is in excellent condition...no holes or weak spots.  Cotton lace collar or dress front circa 1880. This cream machine made lace collar or dress front measures 27 inches in wide and 13 inches deep in the center. lace style circa 1880 to 90s. This lace is in excellent, strong condition.

Handmade wide cotton tape lace circa 1880s. This cream cotton lace measures 7 by 54 inches, it was made forming tape lace onto a pattern and hand stitching it together in a manner reminiscent of needle lace. This lace is in excellent, strong condition.  Cotton insert lace circa 1890. This cream machine made cotton lace measures 3/4 by 90 inches, it is in excellent condition.   Handmade Brussels bobbin lace circa 1880. This ecru lace measures 5 by 24 inches sewn together to make a loop, it is in very good condition. There is another small piece that I added as it is the same type of lace.  Narrow cotton insert lace circa 1900. This cream machine made insert lace measures 1/2 inch in width and I'm estimating between 9 and 10 yards in length, could do several projects with that or one larger one. The lace is in excellent, strong condition.

Narrow handmade crochet insert lace circa 1900. This cream cotton lace measures 1/2 inch wide and is aprox. 6 yards in length. This lace is in excellent condition.  Handmade Irish crochet edging lace circa 1800s. There are 2 pieces of lace, the first is a heavy machine made lace in ecru measuring 2 by 60 inches, the second is handmade Irish crochet lace measuring 3 by 29 inches. The lace is actually longer but one end is damaged so I am only counting the lace in excellent condition.  Handmade linen bobbin lace mid 1800s. There are 3 lengths of this natural linen lace that measure as follows; 1 piece 3 by 35 inches a 2 pieces 3 by 23 inches for a total of 81 inches of lace. The lace is in excellent condition. This is a museum de-accession.  Handmade Italian Reticella needle lace circa 1800s. This ecru handmade lace measures 6.5 by 10 inches, it is in excellent, strong condition with an old tag on it from the museum. This is a museum de-accession.

Wide handmade French tape edging lace circa 1880. This cream lace measures 5 by 97 inches, enough for a good sized project. This lace was made by hand using narrow tape lace which was formed into the pattern, and stitched together by hand, the outline was then stitched on by hand and the filling bridges done by hand in needle lace. The lace is in excellent condition.  Cotton edging lace circa 1900. This champaign colored machine made lace measures 1 by 128 inches, it is in excellent, strong condition.  Insert and edging lace circa 1920s. This is a lot of machine made lace consisting of 2 lengths of ecru insert lace measuring 2.25 by 63 and 40 inches and 2 lengths of light cream edging lace measuring 1.5 by 36 inches. All of this lace is in very good to excellent, strong condition.  Handmade cotton bobbin lace circa 1900. This cream bobbin lace measures 2 by 95 inches, long enough to put on the edge of a nice sheet or similar project. The lace is all made by hand and is in excellent, strong condition.

Handmade lace lot circa 1900. This lot consists of 2 unfinished lengths of lace measuring 1.5 by 30 and 1.75 by 28 inches, they are in good condition and and are interesting and would be good for teaching purposes, there is a collar in sad condition, and 4 handmade bobbin lace insert pieces measuring 1.5 by 1.75 inches, these are in excellent condition, all the items are cotton.  Lot of cotton lace circa early 1900. This lot of cream cotton laces is in excellent condition, for size reference the top length is almost a yard and the second piece is a yard long, they range in width from 1/4 to 1/2 inch. 2 lengths are hand made, the rest are machine made.  Handmade filet lace circa 1900. This cream cotton lace measures 1.5 by 116 (3 yards 8 inches) inches, design elements are floral. This lace is in excellent, strong condition, it is clean, pressed and ready for use!  Handmade cotton bobbin edging lace circa 1900. Handmade bobbin lace Eastern European circa 1900. This cream lace measures 4.25 by 79 inches, it is a sturdy lace suitable for a coat or something substantial. This lace is in excellent, strong condition.  Handmade Point de Venise needle lace circa about 1900. This cream cotton edging lace measures 1 by 29 inches, design elements are floral. This handmade lace is in excellent, strong condition.  Lace lot some handmade circa 1900 to 1950s. For size comaprison the top piece of lace measures 1.5 by 17 and the next 1 by 21.5, all the lace is in good condition.  Narrow handmade Valencienned lace and Swiss whitework mid 1800s. This cream lace measures as follows top to bottom; 2.5 by 19, 0.25 by 9.5 and 0.25 by 32.5 inches. The lace is all in excellent, strong condition. Handmade lace this narrow is hard to find!

Lot edging lace circa 1900. There are 4 pieces of this cream and white lace that measure top to bottom 0.75 by 16, 1 by 15, 0.50 by 34.5 and 1 by 34 inches. They are all in excellent, strong condition.  Handmade Zele needle lace collar circa 1940. This cream cotton lace collar measures 24.5 at the neck, 16.5 tip to bottom center and 6.25 inches deep at the center. The lace is all handmade and in excellent, strong condition. This would look fantastic on a gown!  Handmade Battenberg lace collar circa 1900. This cream lace collar measures 14.25 inches at the neck, 19 inches tip to bottom center and 12 inches deep at the center. The collar is in excellent condition.  Alencon edging and insert lace circa 1930. There are 2 pieces of this peach lace the edging lace measures 1.75 by 70 inches and the insert lace 2 by 18 inches, they are both in excellent, strong condition.

Handmade cotton bobbin lace circa late 1800s. This cream cotton bobbin lace measures 2.75 by 36 inches. This lace is in excellent, strong condition. The cotton is very soft and supple.  Normandy lace collar some handmade lace circa 1890. This light tea colored collar measures 13 inches at the neck and 8.5 inches deep, it is made from both handmade and machine made laces hand stitched together. This collar is in excellent, strong condition. This would look great on a blouse or dress today!  Handmade filet insert lace yardage circa 1890s. This light cream lace measures 1 by 6 yards and 14 inches. There is one small hole in the lace it is otherwise in excellent, strong condition. There is enough yardage for a good sized project here.  Handmade Irish lace cuff and fragment c1880. This white lace cuff measures 3 by 8 inches the fragment 3 by 11. The lace is in fair condition as there are some broken bridges.

This tea colored collar measures 13 inches at the neck and 3.25 deep, it appears discolored in the pics but it is not, for some reason my camera took it that way. This collar is in excellent, strong condition.  Lot handmade and machine made lace circa 1800s. This lot has a couple pieces of handmade lace that measure as follows; the needlepoint lace is 0.25 by 36 inches and the Valenciennes lace is 0.5 by 25 inches, I have my finger next to them in the pics, the rest of the lace is machine made. All the lace is in very good to excellent condition. The handmade narrow lace is hard to find.  Alencon lace circa 1930. This machine made peach lace measures 3 by 31 inches, 62 if cut and laid flat, the design elements are organic with stylized flowers. This lace is in excellent, strong condition.  Pretty lace collar circa early 1900s. This cream cotton collar measures 19 inches tip to bottom center, 18 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep, the design elements are organic with flowers and fanciful leaves. This collar is in excellent, strong condition.
