Handmade silk and down pillow lace cover provenance c1930s.  This.pink silk and down pillow measures a triangle 20 by 29 inches not counting the 4.5 inch pleated ruffle, the lace cover is 31 by 39 inches with 5 miniature silk roses on the long edge.  The lace is from the mid 1800s fashioned into a pillow cover, all the stitching is by hand, it is loosly attatched to the pillow.  The design elements of the lace are floral, the silk fabric is a solid color.  There are 3 small holes in the mesh of the lace, the pillow is otherwise in very good condition.  This lace pillow was part of a collection on exhibit at the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland Ohio in 1945.  The collection belonged to a Mrs. A. E Brown and was loaned to the Society for the exhibition.  There are some letters on Wade Park Manor stationary to this effect as well as a letter with the historical society letterhead that I will send copies of to the purchaser along with a list of items that were in the exhibit and a copy of the picture of the pillow taken during the exhibit.  Handmade silk and down pillow lace cover provenance c1930s.  This mint green silk and down pillow measures 14 by 16.5 inches not counting the 4.5 inch pleated ruffle, the lace cover is 20.5 by 22 inches.  The lace is from the mid 1800s fashioned into a pillow cover, all the stitching is by hand, it was originally loosly attatched to the pillow but currently is loose; one could easily reattach it with a few stitches if desired.  The design elements of the lace are floral, the silk fabric is a solid color.  There are 5 small holes in the mesh of the lace, the pillow is otherwise in very good condition. The lace is from the mid 1800s fashioned into a pillow cover, all the stitching is by hand, it was originally loosly attatched to the pillow but currently is loose; one could easily reattach it with a few stitches if desired.  The design elements of the lace are floral, the silk fabric is a solid color.  There are 4 small holes in the mesh of the lace, the pillow is otherwise in very good condition. This pillow cover measures 16 by 19.5 inches, the front is in very good condition as are the little lace balls, the back should be replaced as it has a poorly done 5 inch long repair. Given another back this is a fun example of the Arts and Crafts movement.

For the ladies boudoir or an elegant salon this pillow does it all!  Mellow pink satin and antique French lace softens the black satin and narrow purple ribbon creating a frame for a lovely hand crochet spade shaped lace in ecru. Backed with mint green rayon damask this pillow is soft but bold at the same time. Measures 18 inches square.  The circular design is a hooked medallion of creams and Coppertone. The black   flowers mix with cream-colored satin ribbon and cream-colored antique lace.   This is surrounded by Victorian black silk satin.  The side of the pillow is   vintage '30's Coppertone silk satin ribbon edged with Victorian gold trim.    The back is made with vintage cream-colored damask.    Measures  12.5 inches in diameter  For your Paris style apartment,  a sophisticated color combination of pink  and cream.  It has a center strip of smocked cream colored vintage satin with  pink Victorian velveteen (silk on cotton velvet) on each side.   Accented with  vintage cream-colored French lace overlaid with a strip of blue silk satin  ribbon, this pillow really grabs attention!  Stripes of bold blue velvet, and   cream satin ribbon  team with the antique rhinestone dress clips  for a  finishing flourish.  Vintage 30's cream Japanese silk  adorns the back.        Measures 16 x 18 inches     Reminiscent of Czarist Russia, this pillow is created using vintage '30's black  velvet and antique linen lace in the center bordered by green and gold vintage  trim over Victorian burgundy silk fringe.  On each side is a strip of cream   smocked vintage 30's Japanese silk.  Antique gold silk tassels finish each   corner.  At the very center is an antique French rhinestone shoe ornament.    The back is made with vintage burgundy damask fabric from the '30's.     Measures 12 x 17 inches
