Standing 9 inches tall, this gorgeous matte vase depicts a mountain lake and island on which pine trees stand among purple rocks. The lake scene circles the vase. The top band is of Deco inspired cartouches of a 4 petal flower outlined in gold. Small enamel dots are covered in gold, a very typical Nippon era decoration. The two handles and shape are typical of the ware that Noritake made. The matte vellum glaze adds a nice contrast to the 24 karat gold. It is in excellent shape. The blue TT diamond mark is on the bottom.

Add it to your Noritake era or Nippon era collection today.  Standing 3 1/2 inches tall, this Noritake Art Deco figural flower frog depicts what to me seems like a kingfisher (serious birder here). The stump with the five openings for flower stems is done in Noritake's classic tan luster. The back and head of the bird are done in blue luster. The bill is black as are the pupils. The irises are yellow with a purple band through the eye. The feet are black. It is marked with the standard MADE IN JAPAN mark. I guarantee it to be Noritake.

A very similar figurine is shown on page 172 of David Spain's 1999 Collecting Noritake A to Z book and is valued there at $260-290. As I bought this very reasonably my price is much lower.

It is in excellent vintage condition. Add it to your Noritake, Art Deco or bird inspired collection today.  This cute little fellow is a pin dish made by the Noritake Company in the 1935-1931 time period. One can see it pictured in plate D.236 on page 130 of David Spain's 2004 Art Deco Noritake & More book. this particular example has a white dog with red mouth and black nose and facial features. The tray part of the dish is standard Noritake blue luster and the rim is done in matte black paint, a typical Noritake Art Deco treatment.

It is in excellent condition. It is signed with the standard green Wreath mark. Add it to your Noritake collection today. In Spain's book, it is valued at $100-$180 but my price is much lower as I bought it extremely reasonably last summer.  This Noritake Art Deco compote has a decoration that is pure Art Deco. The abstract stylized flower blossoms in the center are overlapped and bordered in black outline. The background color is not the usual blue luster but a richer deeper true blue color. the rim is bordered in black as is the base which also has a blue band, making this piece an important example of Noritake's Art Deco whimzy.

It stands 2 1/2 inches tall and measures a little over 6 inches across the top. A similar compote is shown on page 97 of David Spain's 2004 Art Deco Noritake and More book and shown therein as plate B. 737.

All Noritake Art Deco was produced between 19255 and 1931.

This Noritake Art Deco 7 3/4 inch wide tab handled plate features a very Art Deco sensibility. The main design is placed at the edge of the plate, creating asymmetricality and giving movement to the piece. That is aided by the tendril like white curving lines which flow across the piece. In fact, these are areas from which the typical blue luster glaze has been removed, thus negative space.

The central blossom measures almost 2 1/2 inches by itself. Black lines radiate out of the center. The blue center is surrounded by give green circles, surrounded by give yellow petals, surrounded by six white and orange petals. There are four other partial blossoms, suing orange, blue, pink, yellow, purple and green tones.

Gold rimmed, it is signed with the blue Cherry Blossom mark, which is a Noritake Company mark. As I picked this piece up reasonably, so have I priced it.

Measuring 10 inches wide from handle to handle, this green wreath mark Noritake cake plate is stunning. It features the classic blue luster on the rim with gold at the outermost rim. It has cut out handles. In the middle is a classic Japanese scene but done in a bold Art Deco style and coloration. A pagoda or temple sits to the left connected by a bridge. Clarice Cliff like abstract trees at right, a black truned tree grows out of vegatation at the bottom of the plate. 24 karat gold, black and orage are the primary colors. The use of negative space is very Art Deco. It is in excellent condition. Add it to your Noritake Art Deco collection today.  Seen on page 59 of David Spain's second book as B.254 on the right, this 7 inch bowl stands 2 inches high and is 6.63 inches wide. It is a great example of the use of black in Deco Noritake. The background of the piece is a light turquoise color which offsets nicely the gold and black stripe and the red petals of the center flower. Notice the beginning of the stalk which is done using negative space for the stalk and a leaf. The two intersecting bands of black and gold triangles add motion and zing to this piece. The three closed tab handles are subdued and do not detract from the design. There is no paint loss to this piece. It is in excellent condition. It is signed with the red wreath mark. Spain valued it at $120-150 in 1999. It is yours for a much lower price. A great example of Noritake Art Deco!  This exact Noritake Deco slanted cheese dish is shown on page 205 of Spain's first Noritake book. It measures 4 3/4 inches high x 8 inches wide x 6 inches deep. It has the green cherry mark backstamp. What is really wonderful about this piece is the very Deco abstract stylized big floral decoration. Another unusual aspect to this piece is the very bright green color used for the leaves. The body is tan luster and the trim is the classic blue luster. There is a scratch mark to one of the tan sides but not deep enough to show the white underbody. There is some to be expected wear on the handle where one would pick it up. However, the blue tulip and large orange and red flower are stunning! Spain priced it at $80-$100 in his 1997 book. I bought it reasonable and am selling it that way, thus the fair price. The paint and luster are in excellent shape.

Signed with the green wreath mark from the 1921-1925 period of production, this Noritake Art Deco ladle probably accompanied a mayonnaise set at one time. Gold trim accents the basic high quality white china which has blue luster decoration. Excellent condition. If you are a dealer or collector missing a ladle, here is your chance to complete a set.  This Noritake Art Deco compote has a great Clarice Cliff like scene of a yellow road through brown fields leading to purple mountains. The vibrant green leaves on the two trees erupt from the yellow sky. Tan luster with a green and black outlined rim. Signed with the red wreath mark and in excellent condition. Add it to your Noritake collection today.  This red wreath mark signed Noritake Art Deco baluster shape vase in shown in David Spain's First book as plate V44 on page 263. 10 inches high, it features a very realistic yellow bird on the stem of a large yellow abstract stylized flower. What is most unusual about this vase is the use of the hard to find green luster background. Excellent condition.

It features 3 cut out handles and a bank of green luster with black rim. The central area of the plate has a mother-of-pearl luster background. A bold iris like purple and blue abstract blossom is in the lower half with a 4 petal orange tulip flower coming up from behind. Notice the tension between the asymmetrical tulip and leaves and the symmetrical orange and yellow bands at the bottom. Marked with the red cherry blossom mark, it is a very nice piece of Noritake's artistry from the 1921-1935 time period. It is in excellent condition.

This funky little Art Deco Noritake ashtray has a shape which is shown on p. 67 of Spain's first book. Look at item A. 86. It measures 3" wide and stands 1" tall.

This great combination of ivory paint on the rest and chartreuse green for the interior of the ashtry is offset by the very Deco and bold use of black rim and the band of black and white checks.

Signed with the green wreath mark, it is in very good condition. The only wear I could find is some wear to the black paint on the rim of the rest and a small pinpoint flake of black paint on the rim of the ashtray itself. Produced in the 1921-1925 period, it certainly has remained in very good condition. Add it to your collection today.

It's exact design is shown on p. 130 of Van Patten Second Series as Plate #771. The syrup set shape is found on p. 146 on Spain I as C.108. Featuring vibrant yellow, rust red, bright blue, purple and green, this is probably inspired by a European style, either Italian or Gouda. See the wares of Deruta for comparable items. There is a also a stylized "fleur-de-lis" in the center of the plate, which is flanked by two mythological griffin type birds. Red wreath mark. The underplate is unsigned as was typical with these multi-piece sets. This is also the part of the set which is often missing. All pieces are in excellent condition.

I have sold a jam set with this exact decoration. I cannot find it listed in the four books I have on Noritake. I think it was inspired by a European pattern as the green cross-hatching of the border and yellow scroll are not typical of Noritake's Deco work. IN excellent condition with vibrant forest green, yellow, orange colors on the central floral motif, all outlined in bold black! Would look great on a wall in your country kitchen!

This Art Deco Noritake small creamer and sugar set is cute! Yup, cute! Done in the same colors as the highly collected Roseara pattern, this set was probably either part of an individual service or a demitasse set.

In excellent condition, the covered sugar bowl stands 3" to the height of the gold finial. The creamer stands 3 1/4"h. A central motif of a basket of flowers is seen on the front of each piece. A great shade of Deco green with black outlining and triangles forms the rim border. Signed with the standard red wreath mark, it's a great little Deco gem of a set.

This piece is done is the style of many of the English pieces of the time. The color palette of oranges, yellow, purples will be familiar to collectors of Carlton for example.

In excellent shape, this piece would look lovely with some hard candy or bonbons on it, nestled next to some Chintz!

This is a great pattern in Noritake design. It is called 'speed line' by Noritake collectors. What is also desirable about this 2 cut-out tab handled bowl is the use of gold luster on the speed lines in addition to the black and white used. Black and gold leaves surround a high abstracted blue flower on one side of the asymmetrically arranged design. Pure Art Deco Noritake genius carrying a red wreath mark from the 1925-1931 period.
