A wonderful repousse sterling silver creamer and sugar set. Except for the creamer spout and handles this is an all over hammered design. It is a delightful heavy repousse pattern with many different flowers and leaves. In excellent condition, except for a very tiny ding on one of the handles of the sugar bowl. Stamped B&H Co. Sterling 30, which is the mark of Becht and Hartl, manufacturers of sterling silver ware in Newark,New Jersey from 1935-1950.
A sterling silver man's brush with natural bristles and a cover plate of embossed sterling silver. Accompanying the brush is a comb made of ivorine, an early form of plastic, the edge of the comb has embossed silverplate. It is unlikely that the comb was an original companion to the sterling silver backed brush. Still, it makes for an attractive set. Both are in excellent condition. The brush is marked with the Wallace RM & Sons and a stag head.
Wm B Kerr and Co of New Jersey made this large vanity powder jar. It is 4 tall and 5 in diameter. A lovely art nouveau sterling silver lid with embossed fleur d'lys decorating the sides screws onto the cut glass jar which has deeply cut loop panels all around. Marked with the 1865 symbol of William B Kerr and Co. from New Jersey. Sold to Gorham in 1927.
These 3 Alvin sterling salt and pepper shakers are made in a sleek modern style that will go with any pattern. Probably originated in the 1950s. These are sterling silver with weighted bases. In very good condition, with only a minor dent on the bottom. A really nice feature is the gold wash on the pepper shaker top, making for easy identification.
A simple style but elegant lines in this antique sterling silver creamer or cream pitcher. It is 3.5 tall and is marked with the Quaker Silver mark from ca 1926. Quaker Silver in North Attleboro, Massachusetts was taken over in 1959 by Gorham Silver Co. This piece, pattern #595 is in excellent condition.
A lovely old sterling silver butter pat or coaster. It is 3.5 in diameter with a raised edge. It is identified as pattern #1226 Frank M. Whiting Co. There is also a dedication monogram on the bottom that indicates it was given as a 25th anniversary gift in 1969. In excellent condition. 29.4 grms sterling silver.
A set of 6 sterling silver salt shakers in the original box. The box which has a plastic top, is in poor condition, but the shakers are excellent. Unpolished, but can be polished on request. Each shaker is about 1.25 tall and never been out of the box. A honeycomb pattern.
Anton Michelsen Copenhagen 1893-? made this blue enamel lined open salt with spoon. Michelsen is famed for his enamel work and this piece typifies his work. Unfortunately, it is well used, with 3 spots of worn enamel. Priced accordingly.
A beautiful jam or condiment jar in cut crystal with sterling silver lid and base. Made by Sheffield Silver Co. between 1919 and 1974 during which time they made a small amount of sterling items. Fully marked Sterling. The crystal cut pattern is of elongated stars all around the jar. In excellent condition both silver and glass.
A lovely antique sterling silver bell from the aesthetic movement era. It is 6.5 tall and the bell mouth is 2 wide. Conveniently monogrammed MHB 1882. The mark is the Lion, Anchor and G of Gorham Silver Co. with Sterling 366 and N. It has etched flowers, leaves, a butterfly and a swallow bird. The clapper may not be silver, it is not marked and has not been tested. A beautiful old silver piece recalling the days of servants summoned by such a bell.
A 6.5 crystal plate with cut star center. The rim is covered with a thin sheet of silver cut in a decorative pattern. There are no marks, so it could be silverplate, but most of this overlay is sterling. In excellent condition.
