Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
This is a nice carving chisel that was part of a large collection of mostly English chisels like S.J. ADDIS, HERRING etc.. This one is V-shaped (long bent front) parting chisel and is marked "40". It is marked by the maker, "S.J. ADDIS CAST STEEL" on the steel, a well known English tool maker. We note the quality of the steel is very good, and the condition of the chisel is also very good, ready to use. It measures a 1/4" wide at the widest point of the cutting edge, and is 8.6" long overall. The handle is nice looking and in very solid condition, 8 sided, no cracks, fits good. A nicely designed, quality made, carving chisel!
