Circa: MID-1900's
Condition: Very Good
Manufacturer: Stanley Handyman U.S.A.
This is a 21.5" long overall 8" blade hedge shears are in very good working order, in very clean condition. They are marked by the maker, "STANLEY HANDYMAN NO. HS53 MADE IN U.S.A." near the cutting edge. They are of very nice quality, typical of this type of shear made in the mid-1900's era. The shears are sharp and ready to use, no rust or pitting, the handles are solid hardwood, with very nice pinned type steel ferrules to hold the handles tightly to the shears section. About 90% of the orange paint is intact on the ferrules. This rare model features a rounded section of the cutting edge area for cutting small branches up to about 3/4" diameter. A top quality vintage garden yard tool!
