Click for more detail...
base173
1940's-50's NY Yankees Scrapbook Collection Offered is an extensive Scrapbook collection of the New York Yankees from the 1940's to 50's. Collection is from an estate of a West Virginian whose family owned a local Hotel for years. Obviously, he was a big New York Yankees fan to amass such a collection. I didn't count every single page or every newspaper clipping but I know there is at least 400 pages and very easily close to 500 perhaps more. I'm guessing there is somewhere around 1,500 to 2,000 clippings counting the loose ones that didn't fit in the binders. I mentioned the collection is from the 1940's to 50's era, but actually his collection began in the late 30's. Not certain, but in my opinion, it appears his favorite player was the Yankee Clipper Joe Dimaggio. He began in 1937 keeping a written track of each game's box score (final game totals for both teams--Runs, Hits, Errors and Starting Pitchers). He even writes little memos on the side like "Dimag Salary $15,000" or, # of innings (extra) the game went, or game which says Cochrane Beaned--Skull Fracture or even Gehrig's 1,900 Consecutive Game. It does appear that he actually started keeping Clippings until around the early to mid 1940's. He was such an avid fan that he even collected some info like the front page of the 3/9/1999 USA Today with the death of Dimaggio and even a "Newsweek" 3/22/1999 issue on Dimaggio and Monroe. I could just go on an on!!! Theres Clippings on all various Yankee players or the era--like a young Mickey Mantle, the death of Lou Gehrig, Whitey Ford and many others. Just a very in depth collection. Some other pieces of interest in the collection I thought was an Official 5 Cent Score Card from a game held at Yankee Stadium between the Yankees and arch rival Red Soxes. Score Cards also of the Washington Senators and Yankees (1945), Philadelphia Athletics and Yankees Scorecard (1945), Cleveland Indians and Yankees (1946) Score Card (Stats Keep). There is also pamplets for Roster & Itinerary for Spring Training in the years 1949 and 1950. WHAT A COLLECTION!!!!!!!!! Something a true Yankees fan will treasure for years and you don't get this opportunity to purchase such a vast amount of early Yankees material to often. I have several other photos so if you have serious interest let me know and I can send them to you. Buyer will be responsible for Shipping & Insurance costs.

vl20
Vintage, Hexagon Ceiling Light Fixture Nice and early Hexagon Ceiling Light Fixture. Probably from the 1930's to 40's Each side of the Light has a White Panel Glass. At the top and bottom portion of the Panel is a fence-like design. Patina to the Fixture has a brass-like look. Bottom and top of each Hexagon Post/End has a pointed edge. This is a 3-way Light Fixture. Overall condition of the Fixture is very good. Some wear to the patina. I do need to point out that one of the Glass Panels has about a3 1/2 to 4" line mark on the outside of the glass. It's not a crack because it does not go through to the other side and is more like a mold mark in the Glass. Measures almost 13 1/2" in height and about 14 1/2" completely across the top. Fixture would be perfect for entrance of your Home or Office. Buyer to pay shipping & insurance.
