This hardcover cookbook from master French chef Julia Child is titled From Julia Child's Kitchen is the fourth printing, dated 1978. It has 687 pages (plus a thorough index) of recipes, not just for her classic French cuisine, but for more everyday American foods and dishes. It contains voluminous information and how-tos as well. The book itself is in very good condition with no tears, stains, or writing. The binding is intact and tight. The dust jacket is quite worn.

Hardcover Pillsbury Family Cook Book with dust jacket, 1963, unstated first edition. Indexed, 10-1/4 by 7-1/2 inches. Mostly full color photos, some black & white. From the title page: "576 pages, information packed, with over 2000 recipes and illustrations to help the American housewife using modern foods and convenient methods to feed her family".
The cover is slightly yellowed from kitchen storage. Dust jacket has a few tiny edge tears but is intact. No writing, page tears, dogears, or stains. Binding and spine are intact. Congressional Club Cook Book 1993
This 1993 cookbook contains recipes by past and present members of the Congressional Club, which was essentially formed as a ladies' social club for the wives of US Senators and Congressmen. Since the first edition in 1927, one of the main activities of the club was publishing the Congressional Club Cookbook. This edition is the twelfth.
The 950 page book has many hundreds of recipes submitted by spouses of current and past Senators, Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, state Governors, Ambassadors, and Cabinet members, as well as former First Ladies. There's also a section of recipes submitted by the men themselves. Each recipe is accompanied by a replica signature of the submitter, and in the case of first ladies, a photograph or two.
The book has a red faux textured leather cover with gold lettering, fancy printed floral endpapers, a red ribbon bookmark. The pages are printed on palest pink heavy fibered paper. There are no tears, stains, or dogears and the binding is tight. There's a gift inscription on the back of the front endpaper, no other writing. Measurements: 10-1/4 by 7-1/2 by 2-1/2 inches thick.

Household Searchlight Recipe Book 1939 Cookbook
Classic 1939 edition of the Household Searchlight Recipe book, 12th printing, copyright 1931 / 1937. I have a copy of the 1934 edition, handed down from my mother, who received it from her mother. I was taught to cook with this cookbook, and I still use my copy for some of my favorite recipes. The chapters are tabbed for easy reference and there is a thorough index. There are 320 pages.
The embossed cloth cover has corner bumps, minor scuffs, and light edge wear. The chapter tabs have thumb wear and discoloration but are all intact. Two of the first pages of the book have dark discoloration (next to last photo). Not sure what caused the discoloration, but none of the other pages have anything to this extent. The binding is tight and there are no stains, tears, or writing to the pages other than some hand written recipes on blank "Additional Recipes" pages at the back of the book.

New York Times Large Type Cook Book
The New York Times Large Type Cook Book by Jean Hewitt, Published by Golden Press New York, Copyright 1968, unstated first edition. This indexed, 446 page cookbook has nice, large, dark print and is perfect for those who have to keep their reading glasses handy when they cook, or for anyone who has messed up a recipe by mis-reading small type and used the wrong measurements.
The author claims the tested recipes in the book were selected from the best that have appeared in the New York Times, ranging from simple to exotic. The hardcover book has no dust jacket and some very slight edge and corner wear to the cloth cover, otherwise it's in excellent condition with no tears, writing, or stains.

The Mrs. Price's booklet is basically an advertisement for the Price Canning Compound but it's interesting. By 1915, the Price Compound Company was sued by several states after the compound was determined to be 5% salt and 95% boric acid, a poison.
All booklets and pamphlets are in good to very good condition. The Cake Secrets booklet has a detached cover page and missing back cover.

Home Cookery Book 1956 Jean Conil Cookbook
The Home Cookery Book by Jean Conil, President of the Cercle Epicurien Mondail, Published in 1956 by Methuen & Co. Ltd. in London England. 648 pages, indexed, dust jacket.
This cookbook by British chef Jean Conil concentrates on two primary food areas: the first deals with soups, meat including wild game, fish, and savoury dishes (British spelling is used), the second with sweets, pastries, cakes, and confectionery. As you can imagine, at 600-plus pages the cookbook is very thorough with a huge variety of recipes and preparation instructions. There are a few terms and ingredients that may be unfamiliar to modern American cooks such as "vanilla essence" (probably extract) and castor sugar. Fortunately any conversions you may need to make can easily be looked up on the internet. The book is in very good condition with no writing, tears, or other issues.
