3240

Blue Ridge Nove Rose Shell Shaped Bowl Pretty porcelain china serving bowl in a ridged and embossed seashell shape by Blue Ridge China Southern Potteries. The hand painted pattern is called Nove Rose, with pink rosebuds, yellow and pink tulips, tiny blue flowers, and green leaves.

The bowl measures a little over 9" by 9" and is 1-3/4" deep. The underside rim edge has 3 tiny chips, oddly all of them appear to be underglaze, having occurred during manufacture. You cannot see the chips from the side or top, you have to turn the bowl over, and even them you'll feel them before you see them as they're glazed and color consistent with the porcelain body. I've shown an enlarged, sharpened picture of the two largest. Otherwise the dish is in excellent condition, no scratches, crazing, or other problems. The underside is marked "Blue Ridge China, Hand Painted Underglaze, Southern Potteries Inc. Made In U.S.A."

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 16287: Tell City Chair Company Copper and Maple Bun Warmer

Click for more detail...

16287

Tell City Chair Company Copper and Maple Bun Warmer A scarce vintage dining accessory made by the famous Tell City Chair Company, this maple and copper piece is a bun warmer for serving hot rolls or biscuits. The hand wrought copper lid opens and closes with the thumb release above the wooden handle to keep the bread warm. The bun warmer is about 13 inches long including the handle by 7" wide by 4-1/2" high at the back.

The hammered copper top has a warm brown patina. There are some light scuffs and scratches to the wood finish at the back and interior front, all of which are evident in the photos. The next to last picture shows a thin scrape to the wood at one corner where the copper lid attaches. The original paper label that was on the bottom is gone now but it would have been marked Pattern 3104, #48 Andover finish, Tell City Chair Co. Tell City Indiana. The bun warmer is often mistaken for a coal scuttle, but the last photo is from a 1950s company lamps & decorative accessories brochure showing it is indeed a hard rock maple bun warmer (left column center).

Circa: 1950

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 12625: Hall 1940s Chinese Red Pert Covered Casserole

Click for more detail...

12625

Hall 1940s Chinese Red Pert Covered Casserole An attractive 2-1/2 quart covered ceramic casserole by Hall China in Chinese Red with white handles and lid finial. I believe it to be part of the Pert line, introduced in 1941.It measures nearly 10 inches wide across the handles, 7 inches diameter at the rim, 4 inches deep to the rim (not including height of the lid).

The casserole is in amazing near mint condition, used very little if at all. The white interior is shiny and spotlessly clean with no stains or scratches. The red finish still has its factory gloss. There is one tiny, thin and shallow 1/8 of an inch shallow scratch line to the glaze on one side near the handle, barely noticeable, otherwise the finish is perfect. The unglazed bottoms of these older casseroles frequently show staining but this one is very clean with only minor scuff marks along the outside ring from storage and shelf wear. Marked in gold Hall's Superior Quality Kitchenware Made In U.S.A. If you're looking for a showy yet functional piece for your vintage red kitchen, this would be a great choice.

Manufacturer: Hall China

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 5694-3: Hand Tooled Copper Over Glass Liqueur or Cordial Set on Tray

Click for more detail...

5694-3

Hand Tooled Copper Over Glass Liqueur or Cordial Set on Tray This unusual vintage copper cordial, aperitif, or liqueur beverage set has a pierced and chased flower and leaf decoration reminiscent of Western style leather tooling. There are six copper jacketed small glasses on an oval solid copper tray with reticulated openwork rim.

The glasses are thick and flared at the rim, almost shot glass size. Overall height from base to rim is 3-1/2 inches, diameter across the rims is 1-1/2 inches. The glasses are 2 inches deep and hold one ounce. The tray measures 10-1/2 by 7-1/2 inches.

One glass has a tight hairline at the rim with a nearby rim fleabite (see last photo). The others have no issues. The tray could use some cleaning and has a few shallow dimples due to the softness of the copper, nothing that prevents it or the glasses from sitting flat. The set has a somewhat Southwestern look but there are no maker's marks - probably made in Mexico for the tourist trade.

Circa: 1950

13600

Antique Copper Syrup Dispenser Early to Mid 1800s This handsome little hand forged copper syrup dispenser dates from the early to mid 1800s. It's unsigned but probably American made. The body is paneled, the lid is hinged. It measures 4-1/2 inches high to the lid finial, nearly 4 inches wide from handle to spout, and 2" diameter at the base.

The pitcher is heavy for its size and has an authentic patina. The only issue is that the handle has become detached from the body at the bottom. Please note that the closeup photo is greatly enlarged - the separation is barely noticeable when viewed normally.

Click for more detail...

15559

Ceramic Roses 1980s Tea or Coffee Set in Original Box This pink and green roses ceramic coffee or tea set appears to be unused. All eleven pieces (counting lids) are packed in their original plain box with foam packing inserts. Included are a coffee or tea pot with lid, four large 12 ounce mugs, creamer, sugar with lid, and pair of salt and pepper shakers. The coffee pot is about 8 inches high to the top of the rose blossom lid, the mugs are 3-3/4" high by 3-1/4" diameter.

Each glazed cream colored piece has embossed pink roses and green leaves on both sides. The set appears to be unused. However, the bottom of the coffee pot has a firing crack from manufacture (see fourth photo). All other pieces are in perfect condition with no signs of use or wear. The coffee pot is marked only with a foil Made in Taiwan label, the other pieces aren't marked. The set likely dates to the 1980s, possibly early 1990s. Chrome and Bakelite Manning Bowman Art Deco Ball Coffee Urn This Manning Bowman model 494 "Party Urn" chrome and Bakelite electric coffee percolator has a great Art Deco ball shape. The patent numbers on the bottom date to the late 1920s though it was in production through most of the 1930s. It holds 24 cups heats up just fine. The cloth covered cord and basket are present.

The dark yellow Bakelite or Catalin base, handle insert, and round disk spout decoration have no nicks or chips. The chrome finish is clean and shiny with no corrosion. There is one short, shallow scratch to the back of the urn and two tiny pinpoints dimple at the front, just below the ringed center band and to the left of the spout (none of the three were visible in any of the pictures I took). The glass perc top is a replacement - the original split cleanly in half vertically top to bottom when I went to wash it. I'll include the two pieces with shipment in case you prefer to have the original for display. The cloth covered cord is in great condition with no damage or fraying. The coffee maker is about 15 inches tall to the top of the raised handle by 11 inches at the widest point where the handles attach.

Lenox Dewdrops Creamer and Covered Sugar Set A cream pitcher and covered sugar bowl in the cheerful, pretty Dewdrops pattern, part of the Temper-ware line by Lenox - white and yellow daisy flowers amid spatters and speckles of blue and green with blue bands at the rims.

The creamer and sugar are in excellent condition with no damage or wear at all - they look like they were barely if ever used. Priced at nearly half what a major online china replacement service is asking.

Viking Amberina Yesteryear Large Compote This fine quality amberina glass compote or comport was made by Viking Glass Company as part of their Yesteryear line. The EAPG-like patterns in the line did not have specific names, the company just assigned stock numbers to each piece.

The compote measures 7-1/4 inches high by 8-3/8" diameter across the ruffled rim. The colors range from rich, deep ruby red at the top, gradually lightening to gold at the base with red highlights within the glass at the lower stem and around the edge of the base. It's in perfect condition without a hint of wear or damage.
