1841
Old West Pioneer Folk Art Chalkware Wagon Train Wall Plaque This wonderful folk art chalkware or plaster wall hanging came from a local Mormon Utah estate. It depicts a family of Mormon pioneers (or at least it is assumed they are Mormons) crossing the mountains in their covered wagons. One wagon with oxen and family members are depicted in high relief in the foreground, and you can make out other covered wagons and horses in the background.

The plaque is 16-1/4" wide by 8-12" high, all hand formed and detailed, not mold-poured. The paint is somewhat worn at the high points, mainly the leaves of the trees. There are some insignificant minor scratches and rubs, and a couple of shallow flakes or chips at the very top edge. The only noticeable chip is a 1/4" by 3/8" flake along the right edge, visible in the first and last photos. There is considerable age patina to the paint.

This interesting piece of old West Mormon folk art dates to at least the 1930s, if not earlier.

Click for more detail...
3826
Westinghouse H-122-A 1946 Combination Radio and Phonograph This Westinghouse Model H-122 unit from 1946 combines an attractive Bakelite tube radio with a wooden case phonograph record player. The radio slips out from the phono case and will work as a stand-alone radio.

The entire combo measures about 18" by 14-3/4" by 8-3/4" high. The radio itself is 13-1/4" by 5-1/4" by 8-1/2" high. The radio powers up quickly and plays great - loud and clear. I'm not sure how well the phonograph works as it's missing the power cord - there's a plug for it in the recessed hole in back. I do know that it will need a needle however, there isn't one present.

The radio is a rich mottled brown Bakelite with gold trim on the horizontal louvers. All 4 knobs work fine and as mentioned, the radio plays very well, but the radio station indicator panel is missing from the top. The case has no cracks, chips, warping or other damage, though there are some pinpoint flecks of white paint on one side near the top. I flaked a couple off easily but prefer to let someone who knows what they're doing remove the rest to avoid damaging the finish. Also the power cord is brittle and cracked.

The wood record player case is also free of cracks or chips but it does have finish wear and some light scratching, mostly on the cover. Even before cleaning up it still displays beautifully as you can see. I took the photos right after purchase and did nothing but make a quick swipe at the dust.

3240
Blue Ridge Nove Rose Shell Shaped Bowl Pretty porcelain china serving bowl in a ridged and embossed seashell shape by Blue Ridge China Southern Potteries. The hand painted pattern is called Nove Rose, with pink rosebuds, yellow and pink tulips, tiny blue flowers, and green leaves.

The bowl measures a little over 9" by 9" and is 1-3/4" deep. The underside rim edge has 3 tiny chips, oddly all of them appear to be underglaze, having occurred during manufacture. You cannot see the chips from the side or top, you have to turn the bowl over, and even them you'll feel them before you see them as they're glazed and color consistent with the porcelain body. I've shown an enlarged, sharpened picture of the two largest. Otherwise the dish is in excellent condition, no scratches, crazing, or other problems. The underside is marked "Blue Ridge China, Hand Painted Underglaze, Southern Potteries Inc. Made In U.S.A."

Frankoma Mouse Baby or Childs Feeding Dish This cute mauve colored Frankoma juvenile feeding plate is in the shape of a happy mouse with very large ears. It's divided into three main sections for baby's food, with two additional sections that appear to be for holding utensils.

The dish is 10-3/8" by 6-1/4" by 1-1/4" high. It's marked Frankoma USA 257 on the back. There is no wear or damage but there are several pinpoint glaze skips (about 5, all close together) on the upper rim, which occurred during manufacture.

2961
Set of 7 Wilshire Ltd Copper Hilt Steak Knives in Case This set of Wilshire Ltd. steak knives is missing one knife - there are eight compartments in the vinyl case but only seven knives. The knives are non-serrated, 9" long with faux woodgrain black plastic handles and copper hilts. The blades are shiny, unbent, and in very good condition with only very minor, light marks from mild use and storage. The copper finger grip bands have some light tarnish.

The vinyl snap case is pink on the inside, black faux crocodile on the outside. It has some splits at the folds and one of the elastic bands which holds the knives in place has broken and been tied together.

2824
Barbara Mock Rose Trellis Beautiful Framed Print This professionally framed and triple matted 1980s print by Barbara Mock is titled Rose Trellis. It's a beautiful country garden scene with lots of pink, blue, and lavender tones.

The print is mounted under glass in a good quality carved wood gilt frame. The triple mats are burgundy, dark blue, and a patterned moiré effect off-white. The frame measures 18" by 32-1/4", the print area itself is a little over 9" by 23". The label on the back is from Paragon Picture Gallery.

My pictures have quite a bit of glare and are grainy - the print is much nicer in person of course. The top photo is closest in color, but the actual print is brighter. There is a small chip at the lower left corner of the frame, otherwise condition is excellent. I have a similar garden print (same artist, frame, mat, and size) in my shop. Shipping will be double or triple boxed and oversize; $45.00 insured to states EAST of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and North & South Dakota. Those states and states WEST of them will pay $35.00 insured shipping (Fedex Ground most likely).

Vintage Embroidered Floral Linen Guest or Fingertip Towel Very pretty old white linen guest towel with a flower basket design across the bottom, embroidered in fine, tiny cross stitches. The towel measures 22" long by 15" wide. The hems at both ends are hand finished with a decorative pulled thread eyelet stitch. So much loving handwork for such a small household linen!

The towel is in excellent condition with no stains, tears, or stitching damage. I didn't press it before taking the pictures, but the towel will be shipped freshly laundered and pressed.

Mastercrafters Electric Horse Clock This terrific vintage clock was made by Mastercrafters of Chicago. The body is hard molded plastic with a standing horse, the clock is framed in a horseshoe. The clock measures 13" long by 8-3/4" high to the horse's ears. The cord is about 6-1/2 feet long. It works fine and has no cosmetic issues other than some mild scuffing on the back. The clock can hang on the wall or rest upright on a mantle or shelf.

1734B
1910 Indiana Paneled Daisies & Finecut Large Square EAPG Bowl This beautiful rectangular shaped bowl was made by Indiana Glass Company circa 1910. The pattern is called Paneled Daisies (or Daisy) & Fine Cut No. 123. It measures 10-3/8" by 8-3/4" by 2-3/4" high. It's in crystal clear, excellent condition with very little wear for its age - it must have been put away and seldom if ever used. You can feel one tiny flake of roughness along the inside lip or mold line, and going over the bottom of the bowl with a loupe I found two tiny nicks and a flake on the edges of the cuttings. Certainly nothing you'd ever see in un-magnified circumstances. Any scratch or use marks inside the bowl would also require magnification to see at all - this was a very well-cared for piece of Early American pressed glass and still retains its brilliant sparkle.

4160
Indiana Constellation Intaglio Fruit Platter with Silver and Ruby Underlay Decoration This 13-1/2 inch cake or serving plate was made by Indiana Glass Company in the 1940s. The pattern is called Constellation with the intaglio grapes center (most pieces of Constellation did not have the fruit centers). It has shiny silver and ruby painted decoration applied to the back which some people mistakenly think is a Goofus treatment. The silver decoration is ruby red on the back, and the red shines through the silver nicely when the platter is held to the light.

The plate is in fabulous c
