North Brothers Yankee No. 992 Machine Vise
This is a very clean hard to find, quality U.S.A. made, antique machinist vise, marked "YANKEE NO. 992 PAT. MAR.16.16 & JUNE.29.15" on one side. The vice is machined square, with removeable hardened jaw on the solid end, the one hardened jaw for the moving jaw is missing. This vise was used in a wood working operation, and was removed from the machine table slide assembly, some of which we do still have, including precision machined hold down rails that fit into the milled slots you see on the lower outsides of this vise. Since the vise jaws were used for wood clamping only, they have very little wear on them, but if you wish to hold metal in this vise, we reccomend replacing the one hardened jaw with at least a soft jaw plate. This vise has been modified from original, including some extra tapped holes, or threaded holes, and two side slots, and the handle at the end of the threaded jaw screw is cut down to allow for fixturing clearence in the set-up it was in when we got it. It is 2.1" high x 2.0 wide x 5" long (main body). It's in very good useable condition with a very little wear, square, and flat, no rust, very clean, most of the original black Japanning intact. These vises are engineered to fit on various swivel or machine clamp bases that we generally have in stock and listed for sale at this website. This is the mid-size model of 3 types offered by North Bros. in the 1930's era, so attachments should have the "92" last numbers to fit this vise.
Circa: 1920's-30's
Condition: Good++

Machine Turned Steel Nut Driver Set Inside handle Stora
This is a nice clean lathe turned steel handled hex drive socket set driver, with a threaded end cap on the handle to access the sockets to fit the hex shaft. It is not marked by the maker, and was perhaps made by a tool maker for their own use. It is well made, no plastic, all steel. It comes with 4 different sockets size that store in the handle, they are 1/4, 9/32, 11/32, & 7/16", all in good+ condition, no rust or damage. There is no ball lock type feature to hold the sockets in place, rather various grooves stamped into the hex shaft to help hold the sockets in place more firmly. The threads on the end cap are very well made and work great. The driver measure 6.5" long overall with no socket on the hex shaft. A nice pocket tool overall!

Starrett Hand Scraper No. 194 Adjustable Swival Head
This is a very scarse scraper made by Starrett. It is very similiar to the Stanley No. 283 Scraper, but I think this Starrett is a bit easier to use. It measures 9" long and has a double sided cuter with a width of 2 7/8". This is a fine tool used for scraping insides of cabinets to removing paint and varnish. It features an easy to adjust forward swivel head that allows blade positioning in several positions. Simply turn the rear handle to loosen the swivel head, position the blade to your liking, then tighten the rear handle, the blade holds in place very firmly. The wing nut on the front is to remove and hold the blade in place. The blade handle is inserted with a steel sleeve and is removeable, and can be placed on the opposite end of the blade. The top blade handle is in good working order. The rear handle is in very nice shape along with the rest of the tool. All the wood and steel is crack or damage free, no rust, very little wear. The blade is no good shape, with most of it's original size or stock intact. The number 194 is a reference number in the Starrett catalog, it is not marked on this tool. This is a great opportunity to purchase a very rare antique tool.
Circa: early 1900's to 1940's
Condition: Good++
