Delightful 1940's CARL-ART Hand-Painted Southern Belle, Gold-Filled Earrings These vintage gold-filled earrings by Carl-Art showcase beautiful mirror-image portraits of a southern belle in pink gown with white ribbon trim. Her upswept hair is adorned with pink and white ribbons to compliment the low-cut, puff-sleeved Victorian gown. Each earring is ¾" high and has a gold-filled bezel surrounding the portrait which is protected by a thin layer of glass or celluloid. A faux pearl tops the pair of leaves beneath each framed miniature. The adjustable screw-back fittings are stamped "1/20 12K Gold Filled" and have the arrow/CA signature for Carl-Art Company of Rhode Island. The earrings are in very fine condition.

Click for more detail...
1980's Geometric Mod Stickpin with White Glass Stones, New/Old Stock with Tag This eye-catching 1980’s era glass and metal double-ended stickpin features a bold geometric design of brushed silver-tone domes set diagonally to square glass jewels. The glass jewels have sharply molded facets and are truly opaque; this design has white stones, I have also listed the design with bright red stones. Since both ends of the stickpin are identical, this piece can be worn on the lapel in the traditional form as at the collar or on a collarless neckline horizontally. A vinyl clutch within the nib keeps the in securely in place. (And, if you have a simple pin clutch, you can wear just the single ornament/shaft as an ascot pin.)

Part of the estate of an obsessive jewelry collector, these striking Modernist style stickpins originally sold at the old John Wanamaker’s, a very fine Philadelphia department store for $44 each (one had a label on it). They are well-made (they remind me of Givenchy jewelry of the period) and in excellent, unworn condition.

You can appreciate the careful construction of the soldered layers from the reverse. This 1940’s brooch is in very fine condition with no missing or damaged stones.

Pair of Vintage Victorian Revival Style Patterned Bangles These two vintage silver tone bangles have stamped patterns in the Victorian Revival style: the wider has oak leaves on a geometric grid and the thin one has five-petal apple blossom type flowers on a background of vertical ribs. Each is domed and has a diameter of 2 3/8" across the width of the interior; both have secure push-clasps. The oak leaves bangle is 11/16" in width and has a safety chain; the floral is 3/8" and has a smooth inner wall. The nickel or chrome plating is very fine on each and together they make a very flattering addition to a lucky wrist (or two!).

Click for more detail...
Delightful 1930's PARENTI Sterling Silver VIRGO Zodiac Pin This vintage Virgo zodiac pin by Parenti is cast in sterling silver and depicts the Virgin in a lily-bedecked open frame. The brooch is 1 7/8" wide and features the script symbol for Virgo. The back of the pin has the cast "Parenti Sterling" signature. With a lovely patina, this special vintage birth month pin is in wonderful condition. The two Parenti sisters trained as silversmiths in Florence, Italy, and emigrated to the US in the early 1930’s and later set up a shop on the exclusive Newbury Street in Boston. They made finely hand-crafted jewelry that is coveted by collectors on both sides of the Atlantic.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Hand-Cut_Crystal_Bead_Chandeliers: Luxe Multi-Tier Hand-Cut Crystal Bead Chandelier Earrings
Click for more detail...
Luxe Multi-Tier Hand-Cut Crystal Bead Chandelier Earrings These rare hand-cut crystal bead earrings really live up to the chandelier name—you can almost imagine them hanging over the banquet table in the mansion of a very rich doll! Each earring is just under 3" long and 1" wide. The three tiers of facetted, clear crystal beads are arrange in six columns with two layers of barrel shapes above a swinging fringe of cone crystals. The earrings have silver-plated screw tops with claw-set round crystal bead fronts. The slight variations in the cut of each bead tell us they were carefully hand-made in Europe of fine lead crystal. Even with electrical wiring, your ears will be brilliant stars of the evening. These circa 1l950 earrings are in wonderful condition and speak of quality and careful craftsmanship from another time.

Click for more detail...
MODERNIST Hand-Crafted Sterling "Wide Wave" Links Necklace A distinctive oval link of two "waves" joined by soldered rings is repeated in this continuous 33 ½" long sterling silver Modernist style necklace. Each link measures 1 ¾" (including one end ring) and about 5/8" wide and has a brushed exterior surface (not glaring to the eye and conceals any minor scuff very well). The open style gives this studio-crafted artwork a lightness of spirit and allows the garment beneath to show through, as splashes of color on a passing wave. The necklace is not signed or marked but tests as sterling purity. It is in very fine condition and makes a bold punctuation mark on a simple top or dress.

Unusual Vintage Rigid Mesh Bangle with Sea Creature Dragons This 1930’s silver-plated bangle is made of rigid mesh over which swim four fantastical sea dragons. The bracelet measures 5/8" wide and has a diameter of 2 3/8" across the inner width of the oval. The sea creatures have scaled bodies with large winged fins and bearded heads—maybe Loch Nessie’s kin posed for this whimsical bracelet? It is not signed but I suspect it is European in original. The bangle has a firm box clasp and is in very fine condition with a pleasing patina.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Egyptian_Brass_Turtles_Peking_Gl_Ring: 1920's UNCAS Egyptian Art Deco Brass Ring with Turtles & Peking Glass
Click for more detail...
1920's UNCAS Egyptian Art Deco Brass Ring with Turtles & Peking Glass Egypt mania spread across the globe in the 1920s and this rare brass ring captures the exotic spirit of the accessories of the time. The brass ring has a hammered-look background upon which are affixed two sharply detailed turtles. Imitation jade (called Peking Glass by many) cabochons are set in toothed bezel mounts; the larger stone is flanked top and bottom by scrolls. The ring is adjustable and is currently a size 7. The back has an etched number "1124" with a "6" beneath. I have left the original patina in place as it adds so much to the aged effect of the ring. The inside is stamped with an arrow through a "U," the trademark of the Uncas Company of Providence, Rhode Island, founded in 1911. It’s so hard to find good costume rings from this period as this was really the beginning of the acceptance of frankly faux jewelry and this is a superb example in unworn condition!

Click for more detail...
1940's Victorian Revival Wide Bangle with Intricate Floral Pattern This Victorian Revival gold-plated brass cuff bracelet has an intricate allover design of flowers and vines in the late 19th century Aesthetic style. The bangle is slightly domed and measures 1 ½" wide with an inner diameter of 2 3/8" across the width. The various flowers and leaves scroll naturally around the perimeter of the bangle which is edged top and bottom by a sunrise-in-zigzag border. A push clasp closes the bracelet and a fine safety chain is attached. The hinge is tight and the condition, like the lush pattern, is simply lovely!

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item Jerusalem_SS_Citrine_Gem_Cross: Richly Hand-Crafted Sterling Jerusalem Cross with Jewel and Hand-Made Chain
Click for more detail...
Richly Hand-Crafted Sterling Jerusalem Cross with Jewel and Hand-Made Chain This vintage Jerusalem cross is hand-crafted from sterling silver and set with an impressive cut citrine color gemstone or crystal. The cross measures 2" wide and ½" deep and is composed of cast silver, domed ornaments with mille-grain (hand-done filigree wire-work), and a bezel setting holding the center jewel. This jewel has an intense rich color and contrasts very well with the oxidized surface of the silver cross. The back of the stone setting has an opening to reveal the stone’s culet; no foil no is visible thus this brilliantly colored jewel is not a rhinestone. The bale is a fan shape cast with a star at the base. From the back, you can see the that reverse of the cross was also thoughtfully designed.

The 19 1/2" long chain is composed of oval links, each link-soldered closed to one next to it so there are actually "pairs" of links forming the strand (yes, it is quite supple when worn as well as solidly constructed.) The clasp is machine-made. The links test as slightly less pure in silver than the pendant itself which tests positive as at least .925 (sterling) purity. The two pieces are in wonderful condition and have the treasured look of tradition and history.

Click for more detail...
Bright 1940's Laminated Orange Bakelite/Plastic & Wood Bangle This vintage laminated bangle marries bright orange thermoset plastic with smooth wood for a fun accessory with a split personality! The bangle is ½" thick with an inner diameter of 2 ½". It sure looks like the orange is Bakelite but I got only a weak positive result (as would be the case if the bangle had been recently cleaned). The wood of the other side appears to be Rosewood. The bangle is in great condition (only two tiny dark specks on the orange) with no cracks or chips.
