06-22-2008: Thank you so very much for all of the useful information. I am very excited to receive the lamp shade and attempt my hand at painting it. My husband had a great suggestion of checking around at some of the colleges in our area to see if any of the art departments have a kiln, and if they would bake the shade for me. If not we have some craft stores and maybe they know someone who has a kiln. Anyway, thank you so very much and I hope that you are staying high and dry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
