Hexagon Afghan - he Tudor-Deco color combination shown gives it a wonderful, “spring-y” feel, but feel free to use whatever colors suit your décor.

The Tudor-Deco color combination shown gives it a wonderful, “spring-y” feel, but feel free to use whatever colors suit your décor. And, yes, there really are only two “colors” used, but the long color changes in Homespun’s variable colors make it look like more.

SIZE:  49 1/2" x 72”

MATERIALS

• LION BRAND Homespun
  10 skeins #315 Tudor (A)
  4 skeins #309 Deco (B) or colors of your choice
• Size K-10.5 (6.5 mm) crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

GAUGE: 9" front point to point.  TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

STITCH EXPLANATION

dc2tog (Yo, insert hook, draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops) 2 times, yo, draw through 3 loops.

dc3tog (Yo, insert hook, draw up loop, yo, draw through 2 loops) 3 times, yo, draw through 4 loops.

HEXAGON PATTERN

Make 17 with A and B as follows; make 42 in A only.

Base Ring With A, ch 6 and join with a slip st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 Ch 3, dc2tog into ring (counts as dc3tog), (ch 3, dc3tog into ring) 5 times, ch 1, 1 hdc in top of first cluster.

Rnd 2 Ch 3, dc2tog into arch formed by hdc (counts as dc3tog) *ch 3, (dc3tog, ch 3, dc3tog) into next space; rep from * 4 times more, ch 3, dc3tog into last space, ch 1, 1 hdc into top of first cluster. Fasten off A.

Rnd 3 With B, ch 3, dc2tog into arch formed by hdc (counts as dc3tog), * ch 3, (dc3tog, ch 3, dc3tog) into next space **, ch 3, dc3tog into next space; rep from * 4 times more, then rep from * to ** once, ch 1, 1 hdc into top of first cluster.

Rnd 4 Ch 3 (counts as dc), 1 dc into arch formed by hdc, * 3 dc into next space, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into next space **, 3 dc into next space; rep from * 4 times more, then rep from * to ** once, 1 dc in next space, slip st to top of ch-3.

Rnd 5 Ch 1, 1 sc into same place, 1 sc into each dc and each ch around, end slip st in first sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Assemble following diagram:
