PATTERN I (Sc Through Back Loop) - make 9 in A
With A, ch 20.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch
1, turn.
Row 2 Working in back loops only, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Rep Row 2 for Pattern I until piece measures 9”. Fasten off.
PATTERN 2 (Double Crochet) - make 8 in A
With A, ch 21.
Row 1 Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2 Dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Rep Row 2 for Pattern II until piece measures 9”. Fasten off.
PATTERN III (Basic Treble Crochet) - make 8 in B
With B, ch 19.
Row 1 Tr in 5th ch from hook, tr in each ch across. Ch 4, turn.
Row 2 Tr in each tr across. Ch 4, turn.
Rep Row 2 for Pattern III until piece measures 9”. Fasten off.
PATTERN IV (Basic Half Double Crochet) - make 8 in B
With B, ch 19.
Row 1 Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2 Hdc in each hdc across. Ch 2, turn.
Rep Row 2 for Pattern IV until piece measures 9”. Fasten off.
PATTERN V (Shell St) - make 8 in C
With C, ch 20.
Row 1 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, *skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, skip
next ch, 3 dc in next ch (shell); rep from *, end 2 dc in last ch. Ch 1,
turn.
Row 2 Sc in first st, *3 dc in next sc, sc in center of next shell;
rep from *, end sc in last st. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3 1 dc in first sc, *sc in center of next shell, 3 dc in next
sc; rep from *, end 2 dc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

PATTERN VI (Combination Sc and Dc) - make 8 in C
