With largest hook and A, ch 104 (116, 128).

Row 1 With A, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, *1 sc in each of next 7 (8, 9) ch, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in each of next 7 (8, 9) ch, 3 sc in next ch; rep from *, end last rep 2 sc in last ch, turn.

Row 2 With A, ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, *1 hdc in each of next 7 (8, 9) sts, skip 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 7 (8, 9) sts, 3 hdc in next st; rep from *, end last rep 2 hdc in last st, turn.

Row 3 With A, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *1 sc in each of next 7 (8, 9) sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 7 (8, 9) sts, 3 sc in next st; rep from *, end last rep 2 sc in last st, turn. Continue on the 2 patterns until Front measures same as Back to shoulder. Fasten off.

Work as for Right Front, rev shaping.

With largest hook and A, ch 77.

Row 1 With A, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, *1 sc in each of next 6 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in each of next 6 ch, 3 sc in next ch; rep from *, ending last rep with 2 sc in last ch, turn.

Row 2 With A, ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, *1 hdc in each of next 6 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 6 sts, 3 hdc in next st; rep from *, end last rep 2 hdc in last st, turn.

Row 3 With A, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *1 sc in each of next 6 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts, 3 sc in next st; rep from *, end 2 sc in last st, turn. Rep Rows 2 and 3 for pattern and rep from ** to ** for color pattern sequence as on Back until 6 rows of C have been completed, ending with Row 2. Change to A.

Inc row With A, ch 2, 3 hdc in same space, *1 hdc in each of next 6 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 6 sts, 5 hdc in next st; rep from *, end last rep 3 hdc in last st - 10 sts inc - 86 sts. Continue in newly established pattern and rep Rows 2 and 3, substituting 7 sts for 6 sts, until 2nd B stripe has been completed.

Inc row With A, 3 hdc in same space, *1 hdc in each of next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 7 sts, 5 hdc in next st; rep from *, end last rep 3 hdc in last st - 10 sts inc - 96 sts. Continue in newly established pattern and rep Rows 2 and 3, substituting 8 sts for 7 sts in color sequence as for Back until 2nd stripe has been completed. Fasten off.

With largest hook and A, ch 134. Rep pattern Rows 1-3 as for Back. Change to medium hook and B. Continue in established colors and pattern for 6 rows with B, then 2 rows with A. Fasten off.

Filling Triangles: Back Attach A, with a slip st in first D st, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 sc in 2nd st and into each of next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts. Ch 1, turn. Skip 1 st, 1 sc into each of next 6 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc into each of next 6 sts. Ch 1, turn. Skip 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc into each of next 4 sts. Ch 1, turn. Skip 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts. Turn and slip st over 8 sts. Continue across Back.

Left Front Work same as for Back.

Right Front Work same as for Back.

Sleeves: Work same as for Back.

Collar Attach C with a slip st in first A st and work filling triangles same as for Back. Then with C, work 1 row sc in each st on last row. Fasten off.

Sew fronts to back at shoulders.

Neck edge Join A with a slip st and with medium hook, work 1 row sc around neck edge. Change to smallest hook and work 1 more row sc around neck edge. With WS facing, sew Collar to neck edge, easing in fullness of collar.

Left Button Band: Row 1 With RS facing, join A with a slip st at upper edge of neckband (leaving collar free) and with medium hook work 1 row sc along center front to beg of point at lower edge, turn, slip st over 1 st of next row.

Rows 2-4 Continue to work 3 rows more keeping work even at neck edge and dec 1 st at lower edge of every row. Fasten off. Mark for 4 buttons as foll: first one 1 1/2" down from the top; the 3 rem in the center of first C stripe; the 2nd B stripe; the 2nd D stripe.

Right Buttonhole Band: Row 1 Join A with a slip st at lower edge and with medium hook, rep Row 1 of Button Band.

Row 2 Work even at Collar edge and keep to decs as above working (ch 2, skip 2) over each marker.

Row 3 Keeping to dec as above, sc in each st and ch.

Row 4 Rep Row 4 of Button Band.

Collar Finishing With RS facing, using medium hook, join A with a slip st at neck edge and work Rows 1-4 as for Left Button Band along Left Front edge of collar. Fasten off. Rep these 4 rows along Right Front edge of Collar. Sew Collar finishing to front bands invisibly. Mark front and back at side edges 10" down from shoulder seam for sleeve placement. Sew sleeves between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams, taking care to sew lower sleeve seams invisibly so cuff can be turned up.
