MATERIALS
.Lion Brand Chenille Thick & Quick

  • 1 skein #098 Antique White (A)
  • 1 skein # 153 Black (B) or colors of your choice

.Size 11 (8 mm) -24" circular knitting needle OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

GAUGE
8 sts + 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Bias Stripe pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE

BIAS STRIPE STITCH PATTERN
Row 1 (RS) With B, knit and p into first st, k across to last 2 sts, k2tog. Slide work to other end of needle. Row 2 (RS) With A, purl.

Row 3 (WS) With A, ssk, k across to last st, k and p into last st Slide work to other end of needle.

Row 4 (WS) With B, Purl.

STITCH EXPLANATION
ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip the next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to the right needle; insert the left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

HAT
With B, cast on 22 sts.

Work in Bias Stripe Pattern until piece measures 22" along diagonal, or stretches to fit around head. Bind off all sts.

FINISHING
Sew cast on edge to bind off edge. Fold tube in half and stitch back to front at center point on top. Bring center of two open sides to where you have just stitched, and stitch to the same point. You will have four open circles that meet in the center, forming a cross at top. Bring corners together at top, tack in place.

SCARF
With B, cast on 17 sts. Work in Bias Stripe Pattern until piece measures 72" along diagonal. Bind off all sts. Weave in ends.
