MATERIALS:
LION BRAND Imagine, Art. No. 780 (2.5 oz. solid color balls) 7 balls Color No. 111 Blue Heather or solid color of your
choice, or Imagine, Art. No. 780 (2 oz. multi-color balls); 8 balls Color No. 340 Blue on Blue or multi-color of your
choice.
One pair straight knitting needles Size 13 OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Circular needle Size 13
2 stitch holders
GAUGE:
21/2 sts and 31/2 rows = 1" in Reverse St st HOLDING 2 STRANDS OF YARN TOGETHER THROUGHOUT. TO INSURE
PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
NOTE: Garment is made holding 2 strands of yarn together throughout.
BACK:
With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 62 sts. Work in Reverse St st (p on RS, k on WS) until
piece meas 22" from beg.
Shape shoulders: Bind off 9 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 10 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Place
rem 24 sts on a holder for back of neck.
FRONT:
Work same as back until piece meas 20" from beg.
Shape neck: Next row Work 27 sts, join another 2 strands of yarn, work center 8 sts and
place on holder, work rem 27 sts. Working both sides at the same time, at each neck edge bind
off 4 sts twice (19 sts rem each side). Work until each side edge meas 22" from beg.
Shape shoulder: At each shoulder edge bind off 9 sts once, then 10 sts once.
SLEEVES:
With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 24 sts. Work in Reverse St st; AT THE
SAME TIME, inc 1 st at both ends every 4th row 16 times (56 sts). Work even until
sleeve meas 18" from beg or desired length. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING:
Join front to back at shoulders. Mark 101/2" down on front and back at side
edges from shoulder seams. Sew sleeves between markers. Sew side and sleeve
seams.
Collar: With RS facing, using circular needle, pick up and k 60 sts
around neck edge including sts from front and back holders. Work around in St
st (k each rnd) for 7 rnds. Bind off. Collar will roll naturally to RS of
sweater.
