MATERIALS: LION BRAND Wool-Ease, Art #620, 3 oz. Balls: 5 balls Wood Brown # 127 or color of your choice. Knitting needles Size 7
and 8 and circular needle Size 7 or seize needed to obtain gauge
GAUGE: 4.5 sts and 6 rows = 1" in rev st st on size 8 needles. TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE!
Note: Garment is made in one piece beg at lower edge of Front and ending at lowere edge of Back.
Body: Front: With smaller needles, cast on 90 (99) sts. Work in garter st (k every row) for 2", end WS. Change
to larger needles and work in rev st st as foll:
Slits: RS Row: K 2, p 86 (95), k 2.
WS Row: K across. Rep these 2 rows for 1" more. Cont in rev st st only on all sts until Front measures
7" from beg.
Shape Sleeves: Cast on 2 sts at beg of next 6 rows - 102 (111) sts. Then cast on 34 sts at beg of next 2 rows -
170 (179) sts. Piece should measure 37 3/4 (39 3/4)" wide. Work even until Front measures 16 1/2" from beg.
Shape neck: Next Row: Work 69 (72) sts. Attach new yarn, work center 32 (35) sts and place them on holder for
Front of neck, work rem 69 (72) sts. Working both sides at the same time with separate balls of yarn, at each neck
edge bind off 3 sts once, then 2 sts three times - 60 (63) sts. When Front measure 18" from beg and Sleeve
measures 10" from cast-on, join at back of neck as foll:
Next Row: Work 60 (63) sts, cast on 50 (53) sts for back of neck, work rem 60 (63) sts - 170 (179) sts.
Back: Working in one piece again with one ball of yarn, work even on 170 (179) sts until Sleeve measures
20" from first Sleeve cast-on. Bind off 34 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 102 (111) sts. Bind off 2 sts at beg
of next 6 rows - 90 (99) sts. Work even until piece measures 33" from beg, end WS.
Slits: RS Row: K 2, p 86 (95), k 2.
Next Row: K across. Rep these 2 rows for 1". Change to smaller needles. Work in garter for
2". Bind off to gauge.
FINISHING:Cuffs: With smaller needles, pick up 90 sts along Sleeve edge. Work in garter st for
2". Bind off.
Neck Edge: With RS facing and circular needle, pick up and k 108 (114) sts around neck edge
including sts on holders. P 1 rnd. Bind off as if to p. Sew side and sleeve seams leaving side slits
open.
