HERBERT BROWNELL - SIGNED INDEX CARD Herbert Brownell (1902-1996) U.S. Attorney General – Signed Card 3.0 x 5.0 and in very good condition-smudge at right edge not affecting signature. Brownell was a confidant of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his influence on him, led to many of his decisions. His recommendations led to the sending of troops to Little Rock, AR, to enforce school integration as well as having Eisenhower appoint judges who would enforce desegregation.

NELSON A ROCKEFELLER SIGNED DOCUMENT Nelson A. Rockefeller (1908-1979) Vice President of U.S. 1974-1977 and Governor of New York State 1959-1973, signed document and in very good condition.

New York Senate Bill #538 introduced by Senator Thomas Mackell to amend the workmen's compensation law in relation to periods for which disablity benefits are not payable.

This bill was vetoed by Nelson A. Rockefeller, January 5, 1965, but overidden and passed in the Assembly and Senate on May 5 and June 2, 1965 respectively.

Cover sheets with signatures of Rockefeller, Anthony John Travia, Speaker of the Assembly (later appointed by President Johnson, 3rd District New York Federal Judge)and Malcolm Wilson, President of the Senate. (The actual bill itself is not present).

Shipping and postage expense in the U.S. is $3.75 and insurance is optional. We will ship internationally, however there is an extra cost involved.

JOHN T. CONNOR - SIGNED INDEX CARD John T. Connor (1915-2000) U. S. Secretary of Commerce – Signed Card 3.0 x 5.0 and in very good condition. Connor was a prominent New York/Washington D.C. attorney before entering the Marine Corps in WWII as an intelligence officer. He, together with James Forestal, was instrumental in creating the National Security Act, which led to the creation of the Defense Department and CIA. In lieu of his high profile status in major corporate law and administration, he was courted by President Lyndon Johnson to be his Secretary of Commerce. His stance against Johnson’s handling and escalation of the Vietnam War resulted in his resignation from office.

DEAN RUSK - SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH Dean Rusk (1909-1994) U. S. Secretary of State – Signed Photograph 4.0 x 6.0 and in very good condition. Rusk was an educator from Georgia who entered the Department of State after serving in WWII. He was instrumental in the U. S. decision to take military action in Korea. President John F. Kennedy appointed him Secretary of State and he continued to hold the post under President Johnson. Rusk endorsed use of military action against any Communist threat, and defended our actions in Vietnam.

SENATOR PAUL SIMON - SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH Paul Simon (1924-1999) U. S. Senator Illinois – Signed Photograph 8.0 x 10.0, inscribed to Alexander de Medici, and in very good condition. Simon was a college drop out who, in 1948, borrowed $3600 to purchase a failing newspaper and used same as a tool to fight crime and corruption. Six years later, he entered politics and was elected to the House. By the time he retired, in 1997, this charismatic gentleman, had been a state senator, lieutenant governor, U.S. senator and presidential candidate.

Smith was the only woman elected to serve in both houses of Congress. She is widely known for her stand against bigotry and injustice, and fight against “McCarthyism” in the early 50s, as well as her dedication to the interests of the people of Maine.
