TO MY DEAR CUSTOMERS:

I have GOOD NEWS!! Although Fenton is not totally out of the woods yet… the light is shining through the trees! So much so they will be putting out a Spring 2008 line. Many things will be changing though and I want to keep you updated.

The number of Fenton representatives has been reduced by 60%. What this means for me is good news I’m lucky enough to still be a Gold Showcase Dealer, thanks to all of you! If some of you have been using another dealer they may or may not still be carrying Fenton.

Fenton will be sold going forward under two brand names. Fenton USA which will be the Fenton we’ve all known made in the USA. Then Fenton International which will include the Artware that had begun before their announcement which is glass and non glass items (China, etc.) that will be imported. Each will be marked so that collectors will know the source of the product. At present time I have no intent to carry the International so this should not be an issue with glass you purchase from me; if this changes I will let you know.

There will be a more limited production of the items made by Fenton USA. In the past Fenton would produce a season of glass in anticipation of orders and some pieces had more made than orders. Going forward they will be producing more limited edition items and the general catalog items will have the orders taken for a small period of time and then the product made to fill the orders. Which is good news for collectors; this should keep the value of the items you purchase more stable.

With that being said a down side is the catalogs I would once mail out to you will no longer be made. Fenton has to do everything in the power to cut cost and unfortunately this is one way. (At least for now) How will you order? Well there is a public web site that I will share with you that so can look at the items that will be made available in the Spring. This site is now active, go to /spring2008 . I in turn have until December 20th to place my order. Of course I will be ordering extra, but if there is an item you want do not count on the extra, let me know as soon as possible so that I can order one for you.

In the Spring there are also 6 Limited Edition items being offered 1 by Fenton, 2 by Kelsey Murphy, 2 by Frank Workman and 1 by Dave Fetty. These won't last long so if you interested get your order in.

Let me close by saying the Fenton family realizes it is THANKS to you that this is happening. Since the August 9th announcement of their closing orders have been pouring in to the company as well as prayers. You may not realize it but you have been part of history being made. I remember the stories of Imperial Glass, Westmoreland and so many others as we watched them close but we have saved Fenton! Although there is still much to be done we will be part of the next generation of Fenton and hopefully the next 100 years!
