From the wonderful The Hardy Boys book series written by Franklin W. Dixon and published by Grosset & Dunlap. This is book #2, 'The House on the Cliff'. It has the desirable 'blue binding' (turquoise blue), and is a hardcover edition without dust jacket (as sold). We believe this to be a 1960s edition of this book, and has a copyright date of 1959. Supporting this is the fact that in this book a former owner has written in script in blue ink on the upper corner of the inside first page opposite the inside cover, a boy's name and "Christmas 1962". This book has the tan/brown/white pictorial inner cover pages. Book measures 5 1/8 x 7 5/8 inches. We have one other copy of this book with slightly different cover heading/condition which we are listing as "A".

We actually are listing many others of these hard cover "blue binding" Hardy Boys books (including multiple copies of some books). The books appear to come from different editions of this set, based on slight differences in their covers. The books are all being sold separately; you can buy the one you need to complete your collection, or several to start one!

This #2 book is an updated version of the original 1920s issues. On the back of the title page it states, "In this new story, based on the original of the same title, Mr. Dixon has incorporated the most up-to-date methods used by police and private detectives."

The condition of this #2 book is pretty good. It has been read or used and is not mint, but still in good shape. There is edge wear and corner bumping or wear on the outside covers, and other dirt, wear spots or rubbing, particularly a lot of white rubbed spots on the blue of the back cover. The front cover & bound side edge has an aged, old, somewhat dirty look to us. There are some dirt/dirt spots on a few inner pages, including on the table of contents page, and dirt/spots on the outer page edges. Nothing unexpected for an older book. A highly usable, reading copy.
