Stanley 233h Ratchet Screwdriver W/drill Bits
This is a super nice, clean, used 1960's era ratchet spiral screwdriver / push drill! It is marked GREAT NECK MODEL NO. 97A MADE IN ENGLAND , but is identical to the STANLEY YANKEE NO. 233H, and the same Yankee bits fit in the chuck. (Most likely made by Stanley England for Great Neck resale.) This screwdriver is the small size that Stanley made in regards to tooling (bits), or the tips that fit into the chuck, they are the 7/32 or .218 shank diameter size. The chuck holds any of the 6 bits included (2) different slot bits, (one Phillips) and (3) different size drill bits also. There is very little wear on the screwdriver, some minor scratches on the inside of the clear plastic handle, about 97% like new!. All the bits are in very good to new condition, and all fit into the handle storage area. In very good mechanical condition also, only some minor wear on the inside of the clear plastic handle to report, from the tools moving around in there is suppose, as there is little sign of use. This one has a rapid return spring, on the spiral system, so it springs back after you push it in to drive a screw or drill. Basically the same features of the older Stanley ratchet screwdrivers, except this model doesn't allow for the spiral system lock down, (with the whole spiral shaft inside) for using the ratchet system only, independent of the spiral system. This model was designed and works fine this way, and the handle storage feature is nice too! Measures 8.4 long overall.

This is a nice clean, antique, heavy duty framing chisel/slick in very good useable condition. It is 15.35 long overall x .75 wide. It is not marked by the maker, I find no name marks on it at all. It appears this chisel is the laminated type with a tempered steel on the underside from the cutting edge several inches back, and a softer steel on the rounded top and socket areas of the chisel. We also note that the socket was most likely hand formed and shape (a way some chisel makers manufactured chisels in the mid-1800's era. The blade is straight and clean, smooth. However, we do note that there are 3 missing teeth, in the area just in front of the handle. The handle is very nice with the original varnish about 90% intact overall, and a nice floral leaf type carved pattern on the medallion side. It has good handle nuts, and no cracks, no chips, very little wear, about as nice as any I've seen from the late 1800's era. The handle alone is worth my asking price since we see so few in anywhere near this nice of condition. I had considered having the teeth re-cut, as I do have a man with a machine to do it, but he says that these 1800's saw were more brittle, and recommends several re-sharpenings to reach the full teeth once again, in other word, you can use the saw as it is since you could A really nice saw, so rarely seen in this nice condition these days.

Reid Archimedian Screwdriver Drill Pat. 1888
This is a quality made spiral driver screwdriver/drill that measures 26.25 long full extended, not including the removable reamer tip. The main body shaft is marked A.H. REID PHIL'A PA PAT'D DEC. 12 1888 . The shaft is nickel plated, with about 85% plating intact, some scratches at the ends of the main shaft mostly, still shiny. The tip end has a 2 pc. handle the inner part of the handle spins freely as it should, the wood appears to be a rosewood or cocobolo, all in good condition with minor wear on the stain, no cracks, very few minor scratches. This is the two piece split type as from the factory, the inside section turns freely, while the rounded outside end piece is firmly attached, and is very, very solid. The purpose of the free turning part of the 2 pc. handle is for when you are pulling that end back, it doesn't cause friction in your hand. So, the wood section down by the screwdriver tip is also free spinning for the same reason. All the wood if well attached, in very good working order, no damage or cracks, no repairs. Some old tools catalogs refer the this tool with different names, some call it REID AUTOMATIC SCREWDRIVER , others REID'S LIGHTNING BRACE but overall I have experienced that it is great for driving threaded screws into tapped holes quick, and even driving wood screws into pre-drilled holes quickly, but the instructions from the manufacturer that I have found states that this tool is not for tightening screws, or unloosening tight screws, a standard screwdriver should be used for tightening, since this tool doesn't have enough torque. Included is one pipe reamer tip, which is another operation this tools works good for. This brace is designed to accept the tapered square end drivers and small size drill bits, like those for many other antique braces of it's era. This one comes with only one tip, the chuck in the brace has a spring clip that presses a chuck pin downward, and the pin sets pressure to the bit while in the chuck, to better hold it in place, as original, works fine. The included tip is removable, fits good. The chuck, and pipe reamer tip is in very good shape. The reamer tip is marked BUCK BROS. on it. The spiral section is very clean, with very little wear, no damage works smoothly. Overall a really nice, rare 19th century tool!

Antique Carpenters Tool Chest Box W/drawers
This is a nice antique carpenter's tool chest with several locking features and compartments. It is large, and heavy duty. It measures 44.5 long x 27 deep x 24 high. It is very well made with standard joinery, no fancy dovetails, but each feature like the drawers, top inside slide and various storage compartments are all square and move smoothly. Often called a joiner's, or carpenter's job box, this type box was used in the late 1800 to early 1900's to store and lock all the craftsman's tools at the job site since contractors didn't have vans and trucks with storage lockers to bring tools to the job site each day. This box feature keys to work every lock including the top lid, inside top slide, document box, (4) drawers, all locks in good working order. There is (4) metal handles, two at each end due to the weight capacity of such a large chest. It also has non-swival casters on the bottom that allow the chest to roll on a fairly smooth surface, all hardware in great shape. The box is all original except for the one hinge support board at the rear top of the lower section where the top lid hinges attach. It was replace with hardwood like the rest of the chest, but the old milk paint was not matched, so you can see the lighter color of the wood. The replacement was done like original otherwise, all the same sizes and well attached. The is no damage on the chest, as you can see, some paint wear and staining, but other than mentioned, appears all original. This type of chest would make a nice coffee table or center table in a room with other antique decorations. Please plan to pick this item up in Caldwell Ohio 43724 if interested in purchasing it.

Antique Adze Hatchet Unique Small Size
This is a unique antique mini size adze hatchet combination tool! It has a good handle that fits the head very well. The head weight is about 8 ounces, and is 6 long x 1.3 at the adze cutting edge end. We note no rust or damage, but sort of a course or rough casted finish evenly everywhere except where it has been nicely sharpened. The head is very well attached to the handle and the handle is solid, nice finish appears to be a newer replacement. A unique head like this most likely dates back to the mid to late 1800s era. The head appears to be sand cast, then hand forged to finial shape, finish ground and sharpened. It is very sharp, and quite thin, so for light duty work. I have refered to the one end as an adze head because it is shaped like it's big brother the foot adze, but with a hatchet blade at the other end. It have not seen another one like it in this small of size in the past! Rare!

Steelcraft Socket Beveled Chisels 3/4 & 1 Inch Germany
This is a matching set of 2 nice quality socket beveled firmer chisels in two sizes, one is 3/4 (.77 ), the larger is 1 (.99 ) wide. Both are marked by the maker, and location STEELCRAFT TOOL MFG. CO. GERMANY BRITISH ZONE . Although I have seen tools marked as made in different zones in Germany, the British Zone mark is more rare that the U.S.A. Zone for example. I am not sure what city in Germany the British Zone in this case was. Both are very nicely made, finished and polished antique chisels, most likely from just a few years after WWII. Both chisels have that same size socket, and socket taper, so the one handle fits both, just slip it in and give it a tap with your mallet and it stays in place just fine. The handle is a good solid leather capped hardwood handle that has some light staining, very solid, some wear noted on the leather cap end, but the leather is still well attached, good condition. Millers Falls No. 170 Yankee Spiral Push Drill W/8 Bits
This is a rarely seen push drill from the mid-1900's era! This was one of the first of the Yankee style push drills to have the plastic handle in it's design. In this case in this Millers Falls designed the plastic part to be cased in polished aluminum end cap and a metal threaded ferrule on the other end, so the tips of the handle are metal including the thread that holds the cap in place. Millers Falls made many styles of push drills, beginning the the early 1900's. They used two different type drill point chucks over the years, this one having the YANKEE type shank bits and chuck. This model is much like the Stanley No. 45 in design, as well as some features, like the included drill points to fit in the spring type YANKEE brand chuck. But this unit is longer than the No. 45 measuring 10 long overall. This drill is in very good condition overall with a very good spring chuck to hold the drill points in place. There is 8 drill bits or points included and stored in the handle in sectioned slots. (The handle has 4 sections to hold the bits, inside the handle on this model. They are all different in sizes, ranging from 1/16 to 11/64 diameter, each has a .168 diameter shank size (a full set), in very good used to new condition. The drill points shown in the picture are the actual points that come with this push drill. This push drill is in very good used condition with only very minor wear on the spiral shaft sleeve, and on the plastic handle area. We note nickel plating is about 98% intact. It is marked MILLERS FALLS NO. 170 MADE IN U.S.A. , on the polished end cap, A hard to find model in this nice of condition! A very well made tool! A very nice gift item!

Plumb Broad Ax 5 Inch Cutting Edge Offset Hatchet
This is a nice quality 5 wide at the cutting edge, broad axe/hatchet marked PLUMB on one side. The overall length of the handle is 16 long. The handle appears to be a newer replacement but fits very snug into the head. The handle is in very good condition, a few minor stains. The head appears to have had very little use if any. It does have some minor casting imperfections, like minor sink marks that look like light dents, and some edge ding in areas other than the cutting edge, but the cutting edge is very sharp and straight, ready to use, or you may choose to hone it a bit more. A nice clean axe in very good useable condition!

Lancaster Machine Ratchet Auger Brace 10 Inch No. 1010
This is a very rare 10 swing ratchet brace marked NO. 1010 on the frame arm. I have another brace just like this one that is marked No. 1010 and is also marked and L. M. on the chuck sleeve, however this brace chuck sleeve is not marked with that name, but I am sure is was made by Lancaster Machine long overall. It has a spring loaded pair of flip latch pawls that engage or disengage/lock the ratchet system, much like similar on the Peck, Stow and Wilcox ratchet braces, but a different type of chuck than the P.S. & W. offered. The ratchet system features the directional control and the lock spindle feature. This Lancaster brace has the spring loaded alligator jaws much like many top quality Millers Falls braces featured, and the sleeve is very similar in shape and size to that of a Millers Falls also. The head spindle is ball bearing, and very smooth operation. Overall condiiton is very good working order, no missing or damaged parts, no rust, very solid cocobolo handles, (a few dents noted on the end handle) very little wear, very little minor pitting on the frame, much less than normal wear. A very rare collectible ratchet brace, as most ratchet braces seen by this maker are not flip pawl type. Very nicely designed and top quality manufacturing.

Stanley Extension Rule No. 240 2 To 4 Foot
This is a nice clean late 1800's version of the 2 to 4 foot extension rule. This rule is design to fit into pocket or openings such as doors and windows that are between 2 and 4 feet. This rule is made of maple and has two sections, one that extends to measure an end to end distance, and is so calibrated and the inch graduations on the extension section to direct read the measurement. It has brass hardware and end tips. It is not marked with the Stanley name, but is exactly like another one I have that is marked with the Stanley Rule and Level Co. marking. There is inch graduations on one side only as per factory original. The rule has easy to see and read graduations, very little wear on the markings, as you can see the top section of this rule has a stain on the maple that has darkened that section, but the graduations can still be seen, there is some small scratches and minor stains here and there, and one small edge chip on the non-graduation edge in the middle of the extension section only, but overall a good useable rule! The brass is solid, no damage, works as it was designed. Pretty nice!
