Shelton Block Plane Steel Low Angle Like Stanley 118
Here's a nice used low angle (15 degrees cutter bed) block plane that I don't see very many of these days! It has very similar shape and features the the Stanley No. 118 steel bed plane. It's a handy little tool that features an all steel body! The purpose of the steel body had the do with wood shop schools where cast iron plane may be dropped and broken, and steel plane will not crack. It's only 6.25 long, and has a 1.62 wide cutter. It has a good working cutter depth adjustment feature. It is pressed form steel, it's very solid, and the steel is clean. It is very much like the Stanley No. 118, incomparing it to the Stanley steel No. 118 the body is basically the same size and shape, the Stanley is 12 degrees on the bed angle where the Shelton is 15 degrees, and the Shelton has a different style cutter depth adjustment assembly, but the Shelton works great, and will has some lateral movement in the cutter to allow for setting the cutter to the need alignment of the cutter and work piece. The cutter is marked SHELTON on it. The condition is good with about 85% of it's original black paint intact on the body and the cast iron cap cover. It has a good sharp cutter intact good length and stock left. A great cutting block plane, for those little jobs!

Dunlap Smooth Plane Nice No. 4 Size + Box
Offering this nice clean Dunlap Smooth Plane in very good condition. It comes complete with the original carboard box. It is marked DUNLAP on the cap cover, and DUNLAP REG. TRADE MARK 619.3702 on the cutter blade. It has about 98% of it's original Japanning intact. The rosewood stained hardwood handle and front knob are in great shape, no sign of wear of use. Has a large brass adjustment knob on the back of the frog for easy adjusting of the blade depth. The blade is very sharp and about 100% original stock is left on it. This is the first one of these I've seen, with the original box I was told it was purchased in the late 1950's to early 1960's. The original box is fairly thin carboard, but is intact, although it has lost some of it's original shape. The box confirms that the DUNLAP trade mark is indeed a Sears and Roebuck Co. trade mark since both names are printed on the box. On quality comparision to a Stanley No. 4 plane for example from the same era, the Dunlap has most of the same feature, but not the frog adjustment screw. The Dunlap finished bare metal surfaces are flat, and square, nicely machined. The bare metal surfaces on this one have no rust, but we do note some small spots that do have some minor pitting on them, but none effecting use, no rust now. If not for the pitting this plane would be like new! Sears and Roebuck also had offered similar plane under the Craftsman brand name, not sure why they would want to, but history seems to reflect that the Craftsman name was specific to only certain manufactures product, and patents.

This model was the larger 2 speed hand drill with a very slow, and fast speeds. The speed selector is the flip switch type, located near the exposed gear assembly area, it slides back and forth to adjust the speed, works just fine. We note that there is a small chip of cast iron off the area that is near the screw that holds the crank handle in place. The handle bracket is nickel plated and fits into the area of two tabs, one of these tabs that traps the bracket in place is chip off, but the screw is good size and holds the bracket in place just fine, even under pressure durning use. The wood side handle is the removable type with a threaded post at the end to attach it very securely to the main frame of the drill. The crank handle is also removable, the wood handle is solid, looks nice. The end handle is removeable and also, is hollow inside for drill bit storage, is very solid, attaches very securely. Stanley Yankee Push Drill & Ratchet Screwdriver Combo
This is a quality U.S.A. made, used but like new, professional, all metal Yankee push drill marked YANKEE 41 NORTH BROS. MFG. CO. DIV. OF STANLEY TOOLS U.S.A. on the chrome plated steel shaft. This new hand drill comes with 8 fluted drill points (bits)(a full set) from 1/16 to 11/64 diameters. This push drill features the hollow steel handle with an spacer inside to store up to 10 drills. Simply push the handle to drill your holes. This one has a spring loaded type chuck that holds the drill bits in place, works great. Measures 10 long. Also included, you get the Stanley 10 long, multi-bit ratchet screwdriver, 68-010 with the ergonomic rubberized metal handle, (metal w/plastic end cap and rotary switch and storage) and also has storage for up to 6 of your favorite bits in the front section of the handle. A total of 10 bits comes with this package deal to fit this screwdriver. You get various sized Phillips, slotted, square drive, and star drive bits, making this a super versatile tool package for so many of the around the house or shop projects! The screwdriver is super well made, the best grip of any of the screwdrivers that I own, and has become my personal favorite for most small projects! The ratchet feature is controlled by a rotary switch in the center of the handle, for clockwise, lock and counterclockwise positions. The handle has flats on it, so it doesn't roll off the work bench, like many of my old screwdrivers do, and that rubberized grip is the best grip I have on any tool like it. What is really nice about both of these tools it that you can put them in your work pouch and since they have tool bit storage, you don't have to get back down off the ladder to get the bit you need to install or remove that accessory. The screwdriver also has a wall bracket to hold the screwdriver and 4 of the included bits. We know you will be pleased with your purchase of these quality made tools, and we have little doubt that you will pass them along to your children and friends. Makes a very nice gift and any handyman! The price is for one push drill w/8 bits, and one ratchet screwdriver as described above.

Fulton Tool Jointer Plane Corrugated No. 7 Size
This is a very good used jointer plane marked FULTON on the raised pad just behind the front knob. It also has another raised pad just behind the frog, marked 5270 , that may be the part number, not sure. This jointer plane has the corrugated bottom, and at a glance appears to have the same proportions as the Stanley No. 7C from around the same period. Overall the plane is in very good condition with about 90% of it's original black Japanning intact. The front knob and rear tote are hardwood, both solid in very good shape, some minor wear, a dent on the top of the tote handle, no cracks, nice finish. The 2.375 wide cutter is sharp and about 95% intact in length, with very little wear, very clean all around and sharp, ready to use. The is no markings on the cutter at all. The bare metal on the plane has a slightly darkened patina, some very minor pitting and a few tiny edge dings, no rust or cracks. This model has no frog adjustment screw in it's design, much like the older Stanley planes from the same vintage years. Overall a very nice, hard to find plane, by a quality maker. Walter's book on Stanley Tools mentions this is rarely observed but has been on the Type 17. Also note his book says some do not have the kidney shaped hole in the cap cover, as is the rare case with this plane. A very well maintained plane!

The metal is clean and shiney, showing some use and age wear, but just a few minor nicks, a few small areas of minor pitting, the chuck sleeve has the most wear, works fine, Good+ overall. The end handle turns very smoothly, the ball bearing type drive on it. Overall, very clean, some minor pitting, no rust or cracks, good chuck. The hard to find short swing brace!

This is a good old 8 swing ratchet brace marked NO. 333 on the steel frame arm. It is much like the NO. 323 model, but has the steel clad ball bearing head handle like the No. 1323 model. It was made around 1925, and it has the spring-type toothless alligator jaws. It features the cocobolo handles, in good solid shape, the head handle has some very minor dings and the cocobolo apears lighter in color than the throw handle, otherwise, both handles are in very nice solid condition overall with a smooth natural, polished finish on them. The ratchet system works well, and the chuck and jaws are in good condition. We did inspect the alligator jaws, they have a good spring, holds just fine.

Stanley Penncraft Yankee Push Drill No. 41y W/8 Bits
This is a very clean used automatic spiral, push drill w/ 8 different sized spiral drill bits that store in the handle (1/16-11/64) a full set. All the drill points are in very good to new condition. It is marked PENNCRAFT 9225 U.S.A. on the main nickel plated shaft, but is the same as the YANKEE HANDYMAN NO. 41Y made by STANLEY TOOLS CO. PHILA. PA. U.S.A.. There is no difference in the two mentioned by comparison, except the name stamp on the tool. There is a sectional storage compartment inside nickel plated steel handle for drill point storage, and this tool is all metal, very well constructed. This model is the early push drill model offered by Stanley after the purchase of the North Bros. Mfg. Co. in 1946, it is much like the Stanley No. 41Y and 43, having the same style spring chuck, the same size drill points. This one is in very good working order, some very minor wear, about 99% nickel plating intact, good spring chuck, no cracks, damage, or rust. A top quality Yankee push drill!

Stearns Saw Sharpening Vise & Filing Guide
This is a very nice, early version of the Stearns hand saw sharpening vise designed specifically to sharpen vintage hand saws like the one in the picture (not included in this offering). The saw vise is marked E.C. STEARNS on one side of the jaw. The one side has a screw mounted guide bar (can be mounted on either side), to guide the saw filing arm along the parellel length of the jaw width, so the bar is a bit longer to allow for complete jaw width capacity when sharpening a saw. I have personally used this vise with the filing guide, and find it to be in good working order, and does a nice job. The guide holder handle was changed on later versions I have had in the past. This one has a much more heavy duty handle end adjustments, and has no opposite end holder like the newer one we have seen. It is plenty study enough for any hand-saw sharpening operation in this design. The filing guide is easy to adjust, and holds the position (set angle) well, as it feature a thumbscrew tightened ball/swival joint for whatever angles you may want to set for a crosscut or rip saw. Most of the hardware on the filing guide part is nickel plated, in good+ condition with a nice solid hardwood handle. All the original hardware seen in the pictures is included, all the screws and threads work fine, the wood handle is solid, works good in holding one end of the file. We are including a sharpening file in the triangle shape, the file is vintage, near new condition, works great! The saw vise is cast steel, with a big wing nut to hold it to your work table, and also has a joint swivel so you can move it to about any angle best suited for your comfort. We note that there is some black paint on the vise and long bar stock that the guide system rides on, the paint most likely is not original, but well intact, not effecting use, but noted. We see no rust, all the screws and thread work fine tightens down on the saw fine. The jaw width is 10.5 , bar width is 16 , and the table or bench clamp opening is about 2.25 max capacity, and has a good swival pad at the end of the wing screw. A nicely designed sharpening vise and guide, in very nice shape overall. Tested and ready to use!

It has a 3 position selector for ratchet and direction movement options and a twist lock, so you can use the ratchet feature alone, all in good condition. It can also be used as a ratcheting screwdriver if the spiral mechanism is in the locked position. The original box has a good end label, and top label as you can see, the top is very solid, no tape on it, slight warped. The bottom of the box is solid, but taped on one end, but holding together nicely. The top and side labels are in good shape, some minor wear noted. A very nice smooth working, collectible spiral ratchet screwdriver! Note: We generally have several tool bits and accessories for this size screwdriver for sale at this site, such as the hex adapter, drill point adapter sets, and other screwdriver tips too!
