Popeye 1960 T.v. Edition Numbered Pencil Coloring Set
King Features Syndicate revived Popeye and his assorted cast of cartoon characters as a new offering on T.V. beginning in 1960 and running more than 200 episodes, ending in 1962. Our vintage numbered colored pencil set was marketed by Hasbro, (Hasenfeld Bros. of Central Falls, Rhode Island) and all this information is printed on the box. The box is well-worn on the edging and corners, but the colors on the cover are still vibrant and on the inside can be found eleven small colored pencils, all printed with the Sunset Crayon company name, color name, and numbered. We don't know what size the original 12 pencils were, (missing one). Now, they are in the 3 inch range, secured with a rubber band. The box cover states that the set comes with a top quality pencil sharpener - that too is gone. We do have 3 smaller size sheets of completed pencil drawings, size 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches. In addition, there are 6 larger size finished drawings, measuring 8 x 11 inches. These are an assortment featuring the Sailor Man, Olive Oyl, Brutus ( who was named Bluto in the cartoon features prior to T.V.) and Whimpy. The larger drawings are on heavier stock paper and would be suitable for framing, as well as the illustration on the box cover if desired.

This 500 piece jigsaw is named Indian Summer and was made from a painting by Bill Shaddix. It seems to have the right amount of pieces but I didn't put it together to be sure that they all went to this puzzle! (though they seem to). The puzzle is dated 1983 and was carried by Leanin Tree.
British Steam Locomotives, 1948-1968 Vol. 2 (Detailing & Modifying In Oo Gauge) By: George Dent
Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry. Collector Bookstore Notes Written for model railroad enthusiasts, this illustrated volume covers step-by-step detailing for toy trains built by the British Steam Locomotives company between 1948-1968. Publishers Description: During the twenty years in which Britain's nationalized railway operated mainline steam locomotives, a vast array of individual designs complemented the British Railways Standard machines, built up to 1960. Such was the variety of motive power to be seen on the network that this early period of BR's existence has proved to be the most enduring amongst enthusiasts and modelers. The ready-to-run market has reflected this popularity in terms of models and liveries available off-the-shelf. Despite constantly rising levels of detail, finish and performance, r-t-r models can never cater for every variation in components, equipment or livery that invariably arose within large and long-lived fleets. Nor can they offer particular running numbers and names to satisfy every customer, while older products may also require work to bring them up to the standard of contemporary offerings. Therefore, being able to change factory-applied decals, add period or individual locomotive-specific details, modify a livery or create an authentic weathered finish can prove vital to achieving a heightened sense of realism and individuality within our traction fleets.
