Back in the day, automobiles did not have dash mounted mechanical gauges for gasoline. These wooden measuring sticks were the only thing that saved the driver. Imagine Dad trying to explain to An irate wife that she (and kiddies) would have to wait for two hours in an open vehicle while he walked to get more gas. Or she could, with all the trailing children, walk along a dusty, rutted dirt toad back home. Better the gauge. This gauge is in good condition with minor staining. No breaks or chipping. All lettering is visible. Good advertising on back. We make every attempt to accurately describe each item, however, mistakes do occur and our interpretations of condition may not always agree.
