Very nice vintage kitchen collectible or kitchecn utensil, an All in One grater or shredder, which would have been used for grating cheese, vegetables, spices, etc. Made of metal with handles at either end for ease in holding when in use. We do not know what type of metal was used to make this, could be tin or steel, but is all over dark gray in color from tarnishing and spotting from use & age. Flat shredder or grater so could fit over any size bowl. Antique shredder measures 10 3/4 inches in length, 4 5/8 inches width to handles, 4 1/4 inches width to shredder itself, and only about 1/8 inch depth to metal at side.

What makes this a particularly fun piece is that it incorporates a slanted slot and 3 different hole sizes so the same kitchen tool can shred or grate things in 4 different ways. In one corner there are raised letters (impressed from the underside) which read, "All in One, Pat. Pend." (for Patent Pending).

While there is no indication of exact age on this piece, we would judge that it dates to the 1940's or 1950's period (it definitely has age, but we do not know exact age for certain). It came out of an older home. We've provided 4 images. It was difficult to photograph the All in One wording so we shot this both with and without the camera lighting.

Terrific old used condition with no breaks, cracks, pieces missing. We do note an impressed spot along the upper portion near the All in One name which may be due to harder pressing here when grating. It's not a deep impression but as if someone just pressed hard here with their thumb while grating. The grater itself still lies flat since it lays on the side metal bars, but you can see this slight impression from the backside of the vintage grater. The all-over metal while seeming an aged dark gray does have use/wear via spotting, unevenness to the coloring, lighter and darker areas, scrapes, scratches, light rusting, etc., as one expects with old kitchen utensils.
