Antique Tiles

This vintage tile was made by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, circa 1956. It depicts a young boy riding a rocking horse. Done in the wax resist technique, this has lovely muted shades of tan, white, green, and burgundy in semi matte glazes. The tile measures 4 1/4" square by itself. It is nicely mounted in a handmade solid cherry wood frame, which measures 8 3/8" square and is 3/4" thick. The tile has an original paper label on the back from the Mosaic factory. It is design #4308, and was made on January 18, 1956. The tile is in excellent condition, and the frame is beautiful and ready to hang. (#T1150-F)
