Taken from an issue of Saturday Evening Post Magazine, this is a magnificent image of the other' attraction for late Deco-Era America the International Golden Gate Exhibition held in 39-40. Beautiful and lively featuring swan-boats, technology and homage to the delights of Chinatown, this was a major event in design and modernity just prior to World War 2. People marveled at the beauty of San Fransisco, the splendors of the Golden Gate and the thrills of Billy Rose's Aquacade- where the featured players included Eleanor Holm, Johnny Weismueller & new swimming sensation Esther Wiliams! Ad is done in a beautiful bright color palette with marvelous views of the fairgrounds, Chinatown and the Golden Gate Bridge illuminated and gleaming in the reflection of the searchlights from near-by Treasure Island.
