Here is a lovely pair of 14” shelf supports in a not-quite cobalt blue. They are hand blown and formed with ground and polished pontils and each is acid marked “CZECHOSLOVAKIA”. When new, they had, pardon the expression, a silver lining, some of which is now gone, but no matter, they are still impressive in their height and style. Because they are hand made, there are variations in the glass. The base is 4 1/4 “ at the widest point and has 6 pointed feet. There are no chips, cracks or other damage other than the missing silver as mentioned above. They could be used as vases for dried florals or regular vases if the remaining lining was removed. The mark dates these to the 1930’s, possibly earlier. . . |
