Vintage souvenir of the Capitol Building in Washing DC. The photo has the same look as early tinted postcards, and it is set in a very ornate silver plate frame which is marked on the back "WMFM". Plating has worn just enough that some of the brass base is beginning to show through, but actually adds to the piece giving it a soft aged appearance. The chasing on it is quite lovely and very detailed with scrolls and florals (see close up image). The whole thing pops off the stand for easy cleaning or to be placed flat if one desired to do so. |
