These pop-up cigarette and or match holders were very popular in the art deco period and were made in several shapes. Most reference books on Art Deco feature at least one of these tabletop holders. This one is enamel on brass and when you push down on the shade, the receptacle part opens up and your cigarette is ready for you. Because it doesn't have a smoking motif, you could use it on your desk for clips, candies etc. It stands 8 1/4 with a 4" diameter base and is in excellent condition. Exposed brass parts have a nice patina. |
