Circa: circa 1930s-1940s Condition: Excellent Size: Quart Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Owens-Illinois
This Paneled jar is Similar to the PATENT # 18767 which BALL bought from ( ? )I dug it up in the basement of a beautiful circa 1850-1860 Farmhouse (no indoor Plumbing) where I found 90% of my bottles and Jars. It was in better shape than most of them,as the mineral residue and rust came off easier. Anyway it is Beautiful and try as I might I can't find enough on these Paneled types of jars. There is a Base depression and as for the cap I slapped a Zinc lid on simply because it fit,(it had none on when I dug it up)On the base the only marking is the #5 in the middle of the Depression. There are 8 panels around the jar. I have seen another like it on a Owens-Illinois Glass Jar Web Site. I now believe it is an Owens-Illinois. Free Shipping Domestic USA Priority (2-3 days). |
