Circa: 1900 Manufacturer: Mappin & Webb
Mappin & Webb has been in business in the United Kingdom since the mid 19th century. Makers of jewelery, fine silver and glass, they are still in business and silversmith to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
This fine antique example of a decanter features a hall-marked silver mount, 3 applied handles and a cut cross-cut diamond design. The stopper features the cross-cut detail and a suspended teardrop bubble.
The hallmark would put this production date at 1900.
The decanter measures 9 3/4" high to the top of the stopper and approx. 4" wide.
Both the bottle and stopper are in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks or discolorations. There are lines where the handles are applied to the bottle. |
