This pattern glass pitcher was made by both the Portland Glass Company and the Canton Glass Company - and dates around 1880. 8 1/4" h. base to lip Amber color, with a pressed handle, Dahlia pattern. There are 2 lines - each about 3/4"l. which show through when the pitcher catches the light, however I cannot feel them on the inside or outside of the glass. (see photo) Part of the pitcher does not sit totally square on the foot, although the piece sits perfectly flat on a table. One of those early quirks with glass making in the 19th century! (#4715)
