Attributed to the Ohio Flint Glass Co., c. 1875. The Cardinal pattern has very few listed pieces. This butter is 1 ¾" h. without the lid and 4 ¼" h. with the lid x 6"d. This rare butter has the alternate names for cardinal (Red Bird, Pewit, Titmouse) under each of the 3 birds in the base. There are 3 different bird positions on the piece, the cover and base birds mimicking each position with slightly different size and foliage variations. A male cardinal is featured twice, the female, once. There are 2 tiny 1/8" flakes on the outside of the lid. (6393)
