Collection of 1800's Tax Receipts. These were from an Ohio estate and purchased years ago. There's 7 in all. (3) have the signature at the top which I believe says Charles W. Satterfield (or Sutterfield). Another (3) are signed at the top Wm. Snodgrap's??? or grafs or grabs Heirs. The last one says Michael Snodgrap or grab. Each receipt is about 3 5/8" x 2 1/2". Receipts are from the years 1847,48,49 and 50. Not 100% certain these people owned Slaves but the Receipts indicate a Tax for the following possessions: County Levy, Horses, Clock, Poor, do., Slaves, Watch and Acres of Land. Bottom of the Receipts say Received Payment, T.F. Conaway, D.S. for either W.J. Willey, S.M.C., John S. Barns, S.M.C. or M. Fleming S.M.C. Overall condition of the Receipts is very good. Some soilage, light creases and one does have a same piece of tape to the edge. Nice item for any collector of early Tax Receipts. Buyer to pay $7 for shipping & insurance within the U.S.
