Really Good Things

This early, hard-cover, “Chromo-views Guide Book” for “PERTH to DUNKELD ... BRAEMAR and ABERDEEN” Scotland. It contains all 12 of the beautiful pictures of such places as ‘Dhu Loch’, ‘The Pass of Killiecrankie’, ‘Aberdeen Cathedral’, the ‘Valley of the Tay’, to name but a few. In addition, there are 13 well written pages that give useful statistical data for the cities and fully describe all of the sights pictured. At the very back of the book are maps of ‘The Highlands’ and the cities of Aberdeen and Perth. The book’s front is impressed with an elaborate coat-of-arms and on the back is embossed a small Scotch thistle. Considering its’ age, and although the views have separated from the binding, this little gem is in really quite good condition ( the loose pictures could be easily ‘tipped-in’ if one so desired ). The booklet was published by T. Nelson & Sons of London, Edinburgh & New York and, according to the inscription, was given to one ‘Herbert Colehamer’ by his teacher, in 1891.
