Copperton Lane Antiques & Collectibles

Circa: General Electric
Country of Origin: US
Manufacturer: 1948
This very nice late 1940s General Electric copper and stainless steel electric water kettle is the Automatic Speed Kettle model 15K20 and holds up to 2-1/2 quarts. The base, handle, and whistling spout cover are brown Bakelite, the lower half is shiny stainless steel, and the upper part of the pot is solid copper. The white push button on the handle locks in place for easy filling - just depress it again to release.

The heavy duty cord has no splits or brittleness. The stainless steel is bright and shiny with no dings or scratches, though the copper portion could use some polishing. There's one shallow ding to the copper top near the outer edge, I've circled it in picture number three. I filled the kettle with water and plugged it in to make sure it works, and it does heat up quickly.
