1951 Festival of Britain Crown Coin.
On the obverse a portrait of King George VI, and on the reverse is Pistrucci's St. George & the dragon. This was struck by the Royal Mint in 1951 to celebrate the Festival of Britain. The coin has never been circulated. The coin comes with original box, which is a little worn due to age, but is intact. The coin also comes with a leaflet explaining the coin and its origins.The coin's outer rim edge is stamped MDCCCLI CIVIUM INDUSTRIA FLORET CIVITAS MCMLI. (1851 By the industry of its people the State flourishes 1951).
