Nice group of 4 vintage bakelite buttons which came out of two homes. All have a dark amber coloring with one also having what we would call a tiger stripe look within the dark amber, noticeable partly on the topside and to a much greater degree on the backside of the button.

As you will see in the images, there are 2 different types of bakelite buttons here, all round in shape. The larger button is the one with the tiger stripe dark lines within the base dark amber color, measuring about 1 1/16 inch in diameter and about 1/8 inch in depth. In addition to the neat coloring, this old bakelite button has a carved line design on the topside, with 4 groups of 6 graduated lines forming a concave diamond shape around the two center sewing holes. The other 3 buttons are a matched set measuring 7/8 inch in diameter and 3/16 inch in depth. These have a deeply carved square shape within their round outer shape ,with a textured dotted surface within the square. All 4 buttons were tested with Simichrome Polish and shown to be bakelite.

We've provided 8 images to show in groups and singly, top and backsides, and one image with a quarter for size comparison. The camera lighting creates white "hot spots" on the smooth and raised surfaces, so we've shot the buttons from varied angles to try and show all the detail. Wonderful overall vintage condition with no chips or cracks. They do show some expected age/use/storage wear to varying degrees, including some scratches, wear, rubbed spots, dark dot spots, impressed dot spots (two on the backside of the tiger colored button), other wear spots, etc., as expected with old bakelite buttons But there really isn't anything to worry about here, just great buttons ready to add to any bakelite button collection.
