Manufacturer: Roseville
Unusual RumRill 2-handle vase with an interesting mat glaze, that is somewhat reminiscent of Fulper Pottery. On the bottom is incised: "RumRill" and "320". In the 1930s, Red Wing Pottery made pottery for George Rumrill, who sold these pieces as RumRill pottery. The matt glaze on the inside of the piece is a solid green color and differs from the glaze on the outside of the vase (see second picture). Near the opening of the vase, the glaze has a drip-type appearance (also similar to what is frequently seen on Fulper pottery). The vertical ribbing on the body of this pottery is most appealing. This lovely old vase is in MINT condition, is 5¾ inches in height and has a diameter of 4½ inches at it widest point. A nice piece of American art potery! |
