Lovely hand-painted vintage Meissen plate. This rather deep plate has three quatrafoils that are raised along their edges that lie between the reticulated portions of the rim. What is not terribly apparent in the pictures is that the blue trimmed lattice work between the center well of the plate and its rim, is also raised a bit. The plate has a blue underglazed Meissen mark, and is also impressed MEISSEN with number 13 (see pictures). I have three of these for sale; they each have in addition to the markings I have already described, some other blue underglazed numbers (120, 75). Diameter ~7¼ inches. |
