Royal Copenhagen 1970 Christmas plate, entitled Christmas Rose and Cat (Julerose Og Kat). It comes with its original pamphlet (written in Danish, German, French and English), which gives the history of these collector plates and an interpretation of the artist's (Kai Lange) peaceful design of a cat next to a window and a blooming Christmas rose. The cat, warmly sitting inside, is seen looking out at the cold snowy winter scene, while the Christmas rose is getting light from the outside, enabling it to bloom beautifully!! The plate is distinctly marked "Royal Copenhagen Denmark", "KL" (the designer) and has the title printed on the back. Diameter: 7¼" |
