Large Mettlach cameo plaque depicting a classical scene of a woman and her eight attendants. This large plaque (or charger) has a blue/grey background and the scene depicted in white is done in rather high relief and with great detail. The plaque is in very good condition; there is a tiny sliver of the darker pottery missing to the left of the attendant on the far left. This is barely visible, not objectionable and mentioned only to be precise. Artist signed ("J Stahl") and numbered (#2443). Diameter: 18¼" Matching plaque (#2442) is also available (see below). |
